Some statistics
« on: February 27, 2008, 01:19:53 pm »
  • Soldat is downloaded by over 1500 unique IPs every day From the primary download server alone - unfortunately it is impossible to know the true download count since Soldat is mirrored on tens or hunreds of sites
  • The static.forums.soldat.pl server handles ~65,000 web requests per day.  This is about half of all of the web requests for forums.soldat.pl (about 140,000 per day)
  • The static.soldat.pl server handles ~150,000 web requests per day.  This is about 60% of all of the web requests for soldat.pl (about 260,000 per day)
  • Overall, MM's server handles over 5 million web requests per week (including all of the other official Soldat sites, like archive.forums.soldat.pl, mm.soldat.pl, etc etc)

I'd generate more but I can't think of anything.  I've reconfigured the webservers to keep more historical data so that I can begin making graphs of activity over time, like # soldat downloads/day over a few months or year or two.  I should have enough data to start making these graphs this summer.

What else do you guys want to know?  I can analyze the logs very easily with a few commands on the server.

Perhaps out of sheer boredom and some time on your hands, maybe you can generate how many separate people has posted a complaint about the hackers, and how many people has replied to these threads.

stats dealing with the content on the forums will be a bit harder to generate, but I'll take a look.  The best I can do is things like counting how many thread titles contain the word "hack" or something.

You guys are missing the point of this thread.  This is not so much for forum content/member statistics as it is for the server and website traffic statistics.  I'll see what I can do to answer your questions, but it really isn't the intent of this thread.

I think this needs a sticky.

Maybe you can also check to see how many Soldat registrations are made daily, weekly, monthly, etc.

OK. How about this one: Show the numbers of registrations on the forum after each version(since this forum has been up)?

How about lobby connections every day? All lobby connections and connections from unique IPs.

Flies, I don't know if you have access to this info or if it is partially hosted or logged on one of your servers: How many people have registered Soldat?

Also, do you have any plans to bring Awstats back?

I have access to some information about the number of registrations but I won't give any information about it out without MM's permission.

Awstats might come back at some point, but I don't feel like setting it up right now and importing historical data in (in order to make it show something useful)

Anything not pre-generated by the forums should be fair game here, IMO. What about the daily hits for some sister sites, like the one for R?
To sum up my point: We had a multipage debate about toilet padding. (Putting TP in the water so you don't get splashed.)
And we still don't know if dead guys can keep a stiffy.

What about the unique visits to http://www.soldat.pl/download.html, as well as a list over which countries/continents that visits said page most?
