Greetings people,
I had meself a wonderful game of soldat today, no doubt about it, when the fun was suddently ruined as I was looking for a certain map with the "map vote menu thing". You know, you press escape, and you can go "vote map".. Yeah yeah, as I was saying. I'm looking for a HTF map, and even though I'm actually in a HTF server, I still have to swap through EVERY map I ever downloaded, and that's quite alot, man.

Suggestion: Why not make the maps selectable due to what gamemode the server's running? This way we would also get rid of the idiots suggesting DM maps in CTF servers. It happens quite alot when newcomers are around.

I don't know if it would be any trouble adding to the game, but it sure would be nice..

I've always wished it was like that too.  It makes no sense and can really be a pain in the ass when you have a few hundred maps.

And a feature so we can type in afew letters of the map and it auto-finds it. But yeah, good idea :D

I like playing dm in ctf servers if trhe rest of the server feels like dm, but are too lazy to switch. Also inf on ctf maps are fun.

or at least make a list...  i dont have that problem yet, but its still kinda annoying when im looking for DB_indoor, and i have to go thru DB_biohazard DB_hellsomethin DB_hk  Etc.

There should be another menu that appears alongside map selection for game mode filtering. Soldat was styled in echo_trail's idea in earlier versions, but people complained of not being able to switch to a map for a different game mode.

How about a simple search option? Let's say the map is Airpirates.

You type "A" into the search box, and it filters it down to Arena, Airpirates, Arena 2, etc.

haha i had this suggestion once.  except mine was better in that it i suggested a command line with a potentially auto-complete feature.  it would most certainly speed up map-browsing.  And if someone votes airplates and the majority agrees then you shall play airplates!
