Guns from previous soldat....
« on: July 18, 2006, 06:43:51 pm »
I liked how when you killed an enemy when you picked up there gun it was still loaded and ready to go. I mean has anyone accidently droped the law or barret... and had to reload the how gun it takes too long. In the previous version you could pick up a weapon and it was how its previous user left it...
Atlest thats my thoughts.

I was heart broken when this change came about.  It's the only thing ever in a new version that I hated, mainly because I used to have so much fun emptying my minimi, then using the gun of a deceased enemy.

I know what you mean man. After using a knife, I always accidentally throw my law.

How the hell did X in project X do it? He just caught it and it was loaded.

I support this. It was a lot more fun when there actually a point in picking a dropped barret up.

I don't really like or support this idea.

The feature was removed for a reason, so that people will get less pissed off when you steal their gun, and to silence the annoying cries of noobs who hate it when experts steal their fully loaded m79 and kill them with it.
There are other worlds than these

I agree with what jrgp and Eagles_Arrows are saying. Mike made the mod for a reason.

Wrong. There was a reload exploit of some sort that could be achieved by picking up a gun (I don't know what happened though). Thus, MM added the new feature.

I think that the gun must be reloaded but it takes only 1/3 the time as usual, plus two seconds.

I always hated this and never understood why MM didn't just fix the bug instead of adding some annoying new feature. (Yes, I know he said something about it being a pain in the ass to fix, but damn him for being so lazy at the most inconvenient times.)

There's currently the problem of "stuck" weapons. Either the bug should be removed or we should go back to yer olde pickup system.

Again, MM is proved to suck in coding. I mean, either he's pretty damn fat and lazy or then he just didn't know how to fix it.

This is the worst feature ever implemented.

The reason why it was implemented is because people would drop their weapon and then pick it up again so they could reload without waiting. Unfortunately, now it is quite anonying when I accidentally drop my Law and I have to wait ~ 15 seconds for it to reload. <_<

kinky noob, change your signature - it's too big!
anyways, i think it's more realistic to have guns still loaded with however much ammo there was when it was dropped.  However, if you drop it while reloading and you pick it up again, you should have to restart the reload.
picking up guns is a great strategy - especially if you happend to run into a gun on the floor - it takes an expert to quickly identify a gun and pick it up in the midst of a battle.
Can't think of anything original to put here...

The LAW reload exploit could be done with any gun, which was why MM made it so guns have to be reloaded completely after pickup. I actually kind of prefer having to completely reload guns, to be honest.
