S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadows of Chernobyl

Well i just got thie off Steam and downloading now($20) and i guess im not exactly sure what it is. My take on it is its a free roaming game in the Setting of After War Chernobyl. You fight Mutants and soldiers called S.T.A.L.K.E.R.'s There is also multiplayer but i havent looked up on that much. The game play and setting remind me of my past Farcry memories. Has anyone played this? it got a O.K. Metascore (mediocer) 82/100 Or did you hear anyothing cool about it?

I remember playing the horribly crappy multiplayer beta. Never got around to playing the real game though.

Apparently it's set in the near future after a second meltdown at Chernobyl...

Looks interesting but I'd never buy a game without exhausting its demo.

Yep, a second meltdown at Chernobyl occurs on 2011 if I recall the story correctly, and it's a great game with stunning visuals, I was able to play it at its full graphical potential and I must say GG!

the action is realistic though, that's why not many people like it, if you like the Counter Strike, Warrock, Battlefield (kind of going in and out of cover regularly) action then you will adore this game, it's not a Run N' Gun game, it's got a got a good story as well.

EDIT: You think this screenie is sweet? Wait till you see the game's night effects! Just grab on tight to your pants cause it's gonna blow them away :)

No i herd of it along time ago... i just bought it today and i am very pleased with my purchase.

Altho i am not very far at all. ( i keep dieing) its very challengeing and fun its a game i cant explain...its like a Action FPS shooter RPG.

Oh yeah? Well I play with all low detail settings and static lighting at 1024x768! Sometimes it even gets up to 25 fps if I'm lucky!

Play in 800 x 600 and you just might be able to set one of the settings to medium. Anyway human eyes only see at 25fps so anything over 75fps is useless and wasteful.
