How do you modders create the weapon graphics and sounds? What programs do you use?

Hmm... let me go back a bit....

Skydanden told me this:

But you can use Photoshop or Gimp instead of paint.

Also, theres more here:
Henito Kisou's Tut

Skykanden's Tut

Espadon's Tut

Taken from my modding help topic :P

Copied from my WIP page where people helped me out.

I asked what programs do you use mainly for sounds... I doubt you can use paint for sounds...

I still can read. About sounds ? What would you need that one ?

Ok, you can use Paint and Photoshop for gfx, as I do. And then you can use Audacity and www.fpsbanana.com for sounds. Infact, you could use ANY game mods website to get gun sounds, so don't limit yourself to FPSBanana :)

I wanted to know how to create graphics AND sounds, but when I asked what programs do you use I meant mainly for sounds. As for the second question, I don't get it (??).

Use audicity to record sounds.  thats all i know about it... i cant use it.   SFX are way harder than weapon GFX imo.

"Find"? If hes supposed to record something then how do you "find" sounds? I dont see any floating around (Oh theres one! Bagged it). The hard thing aboute SFX is that you need to find something that sound like the Sound you want. like a M79 shot reloading If you add a "kling" to a toilet plug removal sound you get a very nifty sound :) *kling, swop*

M.rSnow, agree. Some things around can have really interesting sounds ;).

Also you can dig some sounds from games and remake 'em.

Getting sounds form other people's works is illegal the same as geting sounds form commercial games like MoH DoD etc.

And companies have been know to hunt people down for using their sounds to make a mod without permission.

You know, because of all the money they're losing from people buying the mod instead of their game.
