I am 17, and I maturely don't like to see cursing.

That logic doesn't make any sense at all.
For one thing, you can stop people from cursing in game.  You can also stop them from making racial slurs, sexually harrassing you, or any other verbal offense i can think of.  There's /mute.  Even if such a function existed in the forums, it would be very difficult to discuss something if the pottymouth is trying to cut down your arguments and everyone can see it but you.
Secondly, just because "nothing stops people" from cussing in game is not the same as it being sanctioned.  It's not as if MM failing to block something is the equivalent of doing it himself.  Actually i played a game with him once in a DM pub, or a guy who claimed to be him.  I was a total jerk, and he still didn't cuss.
(sorry for saying "cuss" instead of "swear", I live in the south, "swear" only means "to take oath" here)

In all seriousness, I think there's a filter because in this particular forum, people have no maturity, as opposed to other forums such as the escapist, which has a higher percentage of intellectual people that don't spit bollocks for every second word. Unlike here, which it would be safe to assume some of our "Younger" forumers would cuss like a hooker from the ghetto because it's "Cool and hip".

The maturity of this forum isn't very high, not to mention there are people who don't even type coherent sentences, so why would we want to hand them another tool to wreak spam destruction on the forums?

Changing a letter of a curse word (e.g feck) is kind of stupid. I think you can easily indentify what the person is trying to say. Instead of minimizing the profanity throughout the forums, you have these same people posting with some made up curse word over and over again. I kind of like the replacing curse words to non-insulting words script.

It actually should be fixed up, as:

1) There are people out there who don't like others swearing (like me), but...
2) There is no one who particularly likes people swearing.
