Avatar making program.
« on: March 30, 2008, 03:25:15 am »
Today, i caught some pretty interesting footage in an autodemo.  I always keep doing autodemos just in case something like this happens.   anyways i the footage is about.. 1 second long maybe?  i've recorded it to AVI using fraps, and i've cut down the length so that it just plays the bit i want to make into an avatar.  Problem is, how do i record just the part of the screen that i want to make into an avatar? I just need some program that will let me cut a small peice of footage out of a movie, and then something that will make it into a .gif

Thanks. ;D

Btw: Freeware please.

Be aware if you're making a .gif for this site especially you're likely to go over the 20kB limit. Just keep that in mind. ;)

Yeah but he probably wants something that's 90x90 and has over 40 frames...

Don't bother, not on this forum.

Uh no duh, look at your avatar's palette. That's only like 6 colors, counting transparent.

yer not a good idea, was planning on using it on another forum anyway.  But still donno how to rip the area of use from the video.  Plus, flamingo that only for editing gifs not converting avi to .gif

Imo F4 it. then use the screenshots like the slides of an animation may be a bit choppy but it works

Send it to me, compressed if you can (no bigger than 5mb please) and I'll make it a GIF for you :)

Ok on my case index is a very good method. But the combine instead of replace is a good option when making larger animations.

It's not making the gif that's a problem here. He's having trouble with converting the avi file to a format from which he could synthesize the gif. ::)
