Grand Theft Auto IV
« on: April 03, 2008, 10:56:53 pm »
Hey everyone. There's less than a month left until GTA IV is released, and I was curious as to how many of my fellow soldat players were gonna get this game. If you like the GTA series, what's your favorite thing about it? If you don't, what turns you away from it?
Feelings are dumb and should be hated.

I probably will get it at some point... especially if it ends up being ported to PC.

What I like about GTA? Freedom. The freedom to choose what you do and in a good way... not in a way that Sims games might lead you to believe.

I like the fact that I don't necessarily have to follow the missions and that I can go on kill-crazy rampages or whatever I like. We've all been there... just seeing how long we can run from the law, pushing ourselves to survive and to inevitably get cut down by machinegun fire from a helicopter or from the military.

The GTA series is a series that is continually being perfected and evolving into something greater. Each new installment is considerably better than the last and is enough so to make you prefer it.

I will try this one out if it offers something new that i want to experiment with, but im bored of the series as of currently.

They should somehow fuse Grand Theft Auto San Andreas with Saints Row... i'd play it.

I think the freedom that mangled is talking about is called sandbox
and  here is an impressive trailer that introduces the GTA IV Protagonist Niko Bellic

I nid it a little easy and boring after like 10 minutes of blowing random people up. (I found the actual story line even more boring) So no, I wont be getting it.

GTA4 will have ragdoll physics so I hear.  Sold.

The one game I played was pretty boring. The story was very, very boring and walking around killing people can be done in any other game.

I liked 3 and enjoyed the improvements in Vice City, but San Andreas was just eh. I hope 4 is a big step up after all this time.

GTA IV will be amazing in terms of everything.  It's going to be a huge game.  Rockstar Games stated no loading times and every part of the city is accessible.  Realistic physics like leaves on trees move when the wind comes by.  People walk around with their own business.  Different land affect the way your player walks, like sand or concrete.  If you own a 360 or a PS3 (Sorry, but no Wii port) and if you're allowed to play M Rated games and you enjoy endless killing, then I cannot recommend you enough to get this game.  Worth every penny.

The only GTA I've liked so far is the first one. But this one do look promising with all the features, ragdolls, object physics, multi player, etc.

OBEY!!!

If you've liked any of the previous GTA games then you're guaranteed to like this.

I can say with absolute certainty that GTA IV will probably be the most popular title released on the current generation of consoles. Certainly surpassing both Halo 3 and Metal Gear Solid 4.

1800 hours sounds reasonable enough.... San Andreas was about 150-200 hours of solid gameplay but had a fairly linear plot. In GTA IV lots of the missions will have alternate outcomes which affect the story and subsequent missions that follow it. Also GTA IV will have multiplayer - which is the main reason why there have been so much delaying.

Personally I can't wait to plow through a crowd of ragdolls in a firetruck, watching them get smushed into the front of it and then get pulled under the wheels.

everything after 3 was skippable, this one seems to actually have some new content, though I doubt most people will do much other than mindlessly kill random people. Which is probably the least fun thing to do ever.

I don't think you've played Vice City or San Andreas for very long have you?

I played vice city much longer than san andreas, but I played both for a long time. If you are seriously impressed by "ZOMG I CAN SWIM NOW!!1!!11" then maybe you should get it.

i'll probably get it, and yes, it might be better than all of my games combined.
we should now talk about which game is better now:
COD 4 or GTA IV

WHATS BETTER? FIGHT CLUB OR LEGEND OF ZELDA? I PREFER APPLES BUT I KNOW A LOT OF PEOPLE WHO LIKE ORANGES.
