CoD4 for dealing with your anger, and GTA IV just to imagine you have a life... in a game, that is.

I played vice city much longer than san andreas, but I played both for a long time. If you are seriously impressed by "ZOMG I CAN SWIM NOW!!1!!11" then maybe you should get it.

I'm impressed when game developers strive to improve upon previous games and continually make better and better games.

Off the top of my head...

Added features in Vice City:
Motorcycles
Helicopters
Poppable tires
Windscreens shatter
Buyable safe houses and assets
You can shoot people in cars
You can jump out of moving vehicles
More than twice as many vehicles in the game
More than twice as many weapons in the game
Mobile phone
Changeable clothes sets

Added Features in San Andreas:
Everything above
Huge environment, 3 city's plus rolling countryside and many small towns
You can swim
Improved graphics engine
Hovercraft
Decent airplanes
Over 200 vehicles
No loading screens after the initial one
Fully customizable character
Lots of new weapons
Customizable cars
Gang recruiting

So if you're saying that there's nothing added except swimming then you're talking out of your arse and are most likely simply knocking GTA for being successful. You're like one of those people who says it's really hot when everybody knows it's cold just to be different for the sake of being a tit.

i'll probably get it, and yes, it might be better than all of my games combined.
we should now talk about which game is better now:
COD 4 or GTA IV
WHATS BETTER? FIGHT CLUB OR LEGEND OF ZELDA? I PREFER APPLES BUT I KNOW A LOT OF PEOPLE WHO LIKE ORANGES.

I kinda liked the fight club game. And I'm not going to read the zelda book.

(Bad example there buddy)

Some of the new features in GTA IV are actually quite impressive:

You can now climb telephone poles and fire escapes. (Sounds like a good chase scene)

The wanted levels work differently now. There's still the familiar 6 stars system, but when you commit a crime and get a star, you will see a radius around you on the radar. The authorities begin searching for you within this radius, and therefore you must leave this radius undetected to lose the wanted level. However, if the cops see you while you're still within the radius, then it re-centers on Nico. The more stars you have, the bigger this radius becomes. Also, if you want to try and switch cars to avoid being detected, you must do this in a dark alleyway or some other secluded area (more realism).

Pedestrians are more intelligent. They now do their own business, such as purchase things from vendors, smoke, eat/drink, socialize, etc. and they can even report crimes via a cellphone (which is bad for you, obviously).

If this was even possible, more things are available to do outside of missions. You can suddenly develop a conscience and report crimes that other citizens commit. You can be peaceful for a day and call up some friends (another new feature) with your phone, and hit up a bar to play pool, darts, cards, etc.

More realism has been added. Instead of seeing large arrows and checkpoints on missions with driving, you will be using your cell phone more often to get directions.

You can call a taxi if you don't want to steal a car, and they'll drive you to an address (as mentioned, every location in the game has an actual address based on New York) you want. You can either skip the trip or enjoy the scenery.

Buildings are much better. You can see outside of buildings from the inside through windows and the world outside will be running in real-time as if it's still one continuous area.

The combat system has been redone and feels more intense rather than taking hundreds of hits out in the open because you cannot effectively hide anywhere from the authorities. There is now a cover system similar to Gears of War and aiming/targeting is no longer cumbersome.

Cars can no longer be simply entered at will. You must run up to it, break the window, and hotwire it (or so I remember).

The Euphoria (don't quote me on that name) physics engine has been added. You will approach a car differently every time according to your initial position to the car, your speed of approach, and what location you are in. Also, walking/running now has appropriate friction and such according to the terrain you are moving in.

Over 20 radio stations are available. An impressive feature of one of the radio stations is the ability to call a number (in real-life), ask to be on the radio show, and your voice will be heard on the radio station in-game. This is also taken from memory, so if someone can find out whatever details I got wrong, if applicable, I would appreciate it. :)

There are probably more things that were added that I'm forgetting. :P

Mangled, almost none of those affect the gameplay at all. same three "kill ____ follow _____ steal _____" missions the enviornment got bigger but the quality went straight to hell, I doubt anyone enjoyed driving over dirt for three hours just to get somewhere. A bunch of features that should have been in the third, just more of the same (omg more vehicles?!?) or just a gimmick (9000000 hairstyles to choose from!) Certainly not worth a 50.

I'm not sure, actually. Like I mentioned, don't quote me on this. I might have gotten some words wrong in remembering the features.

You seem to be clasping at straws in a desperate attempt to validate your argument.

I love how you have to exaggerate in order to actually come up with a point

Quote
"kill ____ follow _____ steal _____"
- So I suppose it's okay to have a linear game like Halo 3 where all you do is kill___ but if a freeroaming crime game's main missions involve just criminal activities that makes it limited. I suppose they should have put in horseriding and scuba diving missions to keep you happy.

Quote

- You can actually walk across the map in about 2 hours and it usually only takes about 2 - 4 minutes to drive from one city to the next unless you can't map read and chose a stupid route.

Quote
A bunch of features that should have been in the third
- Oh yes, your philosophy is that someone should just make the greatest game ever and then never make any other games after it... Of course only from hindsight can you improve and develop on something. That's the equivalent of saying that MM should have made Link-Dead instead of Soldat. Or perhaps that Valve should have made Portal 10 years ago.

Quote
a gimmick (9000000 hairstyles to choose from!)
- That's right there are nine million hairstyles to choose from in San Andreas. No, wait. There are about 20.

Mangled, every fucking mission is almost identical. They made a free-roaming game where you can repeat the same action over and over. A game with decent missions has specific objectives that are unique to that mission.

A large portion of the map is dirt, as in not city, as in stretched to make it sound bigger than it is.

Bitch please; swimming is a fundamental game mechanic that was completely ignored until they finally added it, probably because of so many complaints. there is nothing wrong with sequels, just when there isn't enough new content they aren't worth buying especially if the sequel doesn't extend the story.

Your philosophy is to take something that was once marginally fun and adding the bare minimum of improvements to squeeze 50 dollars out of the market. No wonder rockstar does so poorly financially.

The multiplayer will indeed be online. I hear it is limited... but online GTA = win.

actually I don't find GTA series criminal enough.
I mean there really should be more fire-related missions. I mean if you kill people extremely brutally you seriously become a bigger authority around. But the ragdoll physics in GTA IV is seriously something to look forward to. No more retarded positioned proned corpses flying around without changing positions- sehr gut!

everything after 3 was skippable, this one seems to actually have some new content, though I doubt most people will do much other than mindlessly kill random people. Which is probably the least fun thing to do ever.
yeah frunk, we covered that.

And later changed your opinion to "bare minimum of improvements"? Or are you just bashing Mangled*'s defense of previous titles?

they aren't worth buying especially if the sequel doesn't extend the story.

You must be retarded if you haven't picked up on any of the intertwining character plots that extend throughout the 5 games in the gta3 series.

You're still desperately trying validate your invalid argument. All you're doing is bashing GTA for being successful and the only points to your argument are all exaggerated claims. And the reason you can't swim in GTA3 or Vice City is because there's nowhere to swim to, the cities are surrounded by water so there would be really no point.

Besides I don't care if it cost you $50 and you're upset, I got Vice City for free and I got San Andreas for the equivalent of $25

All you do is call all my valid arguments invalid.
And the reason you can't swim in GTA3 or Vice City is because there's nowhere to swim to, the cities are surrounded by water so there would be really no point.
That's complete bullshit. Unless you are too retarded to read a map, you would know that each borough was connected by a bridge, over water. There were boats in both games, but no swimming.

Your arguments are all invalid.
