Question:
Should MM include female gosteks in Soldat ? It was a joke in the Soldat 1.5.0 Preview, but women fight and die in the war too, and they by all means are soldiers, soldat, just like men. Would it attract more female gamers ? What do you think ?

This thread points out the sad issue regarding the transparency of female players, and how there is an extremely biased view
that Soldat is only a man's game. (MM said so in an interview, and used this as a reason to kill the idea of Female gosteks)

The idea that Female Soldats do not exist, or are considered a lower minority, is wrong.
 
Because of this wrong biased view, whenever girls try to be themselves they have to deal with crap spewed out by the public.
It's just not welcoming to female players, and that hurts the player numbers, which indirectly affects the growth of Soldat
and potential new talents. Wouldn't it be a nice change to have a girl in your clan ? 

Shouldn't they deserve more respect ??
Shouldn't females be represented fairly in Soldat ?

That is because most guys are idiots. The moment a girl uses a girly name she gets insulted on whether she's fake or whether she's fat, ugly, or have big boobs. It is completely annoying, and is usually why girls prefer to act as boys in Soldat.

Used to see Lady Solja from Rebel Warriors a long time ago, before she retired. She had some funny taunts. She even tried to create an all-girls Soldat clan.

It's a big secret conspiracy. Girls have been plotting to triumph over guys in Soldat for the longest of times. Have you experienced the wrath of a woman with PMS ? Imagine them channelling that into Soldat, god damn. 

Then there's the crazy sawer Sarah you sometimes see in !Elite SnS.

If female soldats could be treated with respect, maybe you'll see more of them out there. But I don't think that could ever be possible.........

Ventrillo always had been a source of validation of the real gender of gamers. But don't be fooled so easily, it's a double sided knife. Things are always not what they seem. 

There are voice changer softwares out there, where anyone, just anyone, can easily sound like an young girl, young boy, man, even an old woman. It's so easy for girls to disguise themselves as boys it's not even funny. Even MM has acknowledged the larger and rising number of female soldats. It's scary, but we guys might be losing to girls without even knowing it.

And women do adore gaming skills. I mean look at Korea's fanbase for the Starcraft tournaments. Who the hell do you think are squealing and yelling out there for their beloved Top gamer ??

 I personally think Soldat is much more exciting and fun to watch compared to Starcraft. It's even better than other FPS because you get total control like never before. NONE OF THE 3D-GAMERS CAN DO THE BACKFLIP ! 2D-battles are so much more EPIC.  Imagine if much larger maps were introduced, and player count could be increased. Imagine if there were vehicles. Imagine if each soldat soldier were given an internal-lifepack, and could be resurrected by teammates in a limited time, hell yeah, soldat comrades !!!! Imagine getting every single player to register and donate to support the cause !! Imagine having every gamer in world having a Soldat account  !! Every shooter game has at least 1 female player.  Most likely I would think a few hundred, depending on the games' popularity.  Hell, some of the kids from my school which I told them about Soldat are females and many of them play on a daily bases.  Most of the time it's just us in a private server with DM or CTF.  The point is, we all know females in Soldat exist, this isn't new news. 

Also, I think that chart that determines someone's gender based on their writing is complete bullsh[size=0pt][/size][/size]it.  I mean, it is somewhat possible to tell their gender if they wrote work like about their thoughts or personal life situations.  But general conversations, I doubt it.  It may be accurate, but only for certain things.

Female gosteks might have seemed like a good idea at the time, but as a lot of us know, women didn't go to war dressed as Red Sonja. Yes, they most likely went to war dressed in men's combat gear, since seeing as both sides probably will not exercise restraint on women as well.

I know a lot of you that have a positive spin on female gosteks are very likely thinking of Advance War's infantry specialist, Sami, but she's fictional, and the idea of female gosteks will continue to be fictional for as long as Michal Marcinkowski continues to live.

Oh, female Soldat players? I do know one, though I don't see her anymore. Her name is Sharon (that's her ingame name), and she's from Thailand. I last played with her long time ago, and she was an amazing player in a DM. I can't remember what weapon she used, but I believe its either the AK or the Ruger (I think its the former - the AK-74). I'm not surprised to see that the general female on the internet can actually play much better than the general male.

Actually that's pretty true in the internet. Females are often given less respect on the internet, so they pretend to be guys when online. At the same time, there are some guys who pretend to be girls so as to gain that kind of respect that girls deserve or whatever the reason.

I personally don't really care whether a person online is a girl or a boy. After all, it is the internet, we will never know whether something is true or false. I'll just take it as it comes; respect each person who at least shows some respect, and oppose those who are being complete idiots.

Of course, in real life I would be a little sensitive when it comes to gender, since my personal view is seeing girls as people who want to be loved, while I see guys as gentlemen who should at least respect the girls. I personally hate it when I see girls treated as objects rather than people or are treated baddly.

No, just the sprite settings. Add an option for a female version, for accurate representation of a real war. Soldat means soldier after all, and women should be included. That's all I'm saying.

MM made a comment, I do believe it was along the lines of "Soldat is a game for men, it will not cater for pussies, women ect."
So no, your suggestion most likely wouldn't be taken into account.

Complaining about how soldat only represents a male bias won't fix that. I'm all for the female gender to play soldat, but i doubt that changing the game to suit them is what drew them to play soldat in the first place.
If i was to make an assumption, i would probably suggest that the females playing soldat play for the blood and the fast paced action, So changing the game to suit them would mean you're changing nothing that would really affect them.

I really can't see 2-pixel big breasts when I'm busy shooting, nading and trying not to be hit while everyone's zipping around with jet packs on their feet. And if you make breasts that noticeable I'm quite sure real female players would rather play as guys and lampoon you over the head for trying to create a sex symbol. First of all, the persons friend is female, that doesn't mean the person posting is female, secondly, for the amount of time it would take to get it right, it wouldn't equal out to the amount of people that would use it.

The girls that play soldat, seriously or not, don't play it because some day, MM just might include female gosteks, they play it because it's a hell of a lot of fun, it's fast paced and violent as hell, not to mention free. By adding gosteks that are female, what do you hope to achieve?
It will not make soldat more popular, it will just give the impression that MM has caved in to the amounts of requests for it, after this what next?

Seleia said it well, but I can sum it up for you like so: I don't care what gender the other "character" is, and frankly, they seem rather gender neutral except for a few sound effects. The point is, they're shooting at me half the time, and they need to die, male/female/eunuch or otherwise.

Change the gosteks, make everyone appear female, if that's what you want. Or, look past the avatar of your opponent and realize that the game itself is just a medium for competition and the customization of your avatar are just minor features compared to the game itself. Look at Enemy Territory, for example. There are no female models there, but the game itself is fun and still attracts a lot of female players. Michal doesn't need to "advertise" the game by adding female gosteks, because that isn't what sells the game. The game itself does that already.

I get the feeling that lone-wolf has a serious submissive attitude issue and feels some hidden need to place women on a pedestal above men (almost like some kind of variant of the Oedipus complex).
