Don't drink and drive
« on: April 12, 2008, 02:22:24 pm »
lord in heavens.. i'm so depressed.
i don't feel like talking to anyone, don't feel like going out, don't feel like doing anything at all.
i feel so depressed i'm thinking of spitting out what's going through my mind in an OT section of an online forum.

..hey i might just will.

anyhow, i got caught driving under the influence of alcohol. bordered on illegal ammount of alcohol in my blood in just 30 micrograms (for 1L blood). that's about 2 or 3 sips out of a bottle.

i've been drinking (liquer, vodka, beer, anything) in fridays ever since i turned 18, and never have i even once thought of driving to get to town or to get back home.
yesterday night i had a few beers, nothing serious or atleast so i thought, spent some time in town and went back home in 4 am. unlucky i was to pick a route that had some officers pulling cars over for routinal check.

one of the officers suspected me of being drunk, so i was asked to perform some tests such as touching my nose while closing my eyes, walking in a certain straight way.. you know, like in the cops movies.

anyhow, i've managed to pass all of these tests, but the officers still insisted on a Dragger test. it's that damned tube i had to blow into, that marked me as 'drunk'.

i got my license revoked, my vehicle registrations taken, and i'm being summoned tomorrow morning for a trial to decide if i'll be able to drive again or not, plus whether my car being impounded or not.
a symbolic cash fee was handed over to me aswell, but fuck that.

all that and more, i'm trying to hide from my mother. she can't do much to me since i'm 20, but it'll break her knowing i'm not responsible enough not to decide i'm not driving after i've been drinking, even tho i always promise her it'll be allright and i won't drive, just that she'll sleep well.

currently i'm on the verge of flipping out, totally. i feel like there's a wound opening up inside me from all the mentall stress..
..all that, just because of a beer bottle.

and it could've ended up much worse, people could've gotten hurt or die.

seriously, don't be fucking stupid like me, i'm sure alot of people say that but; as much as you think you'll never get caught - karma stabs you in the balls in the end.

so yeah, don't drink and drive.

Happened to my brother. It does suck but you get used to not driving if that does happen to you.

I doubt you'll lose your driver's license permanently. Then again, I don't know the usual outcome of cases like this in Israel

Consider this a lesson. This will be over soon, hopefully without grave consequences.

My father had to find out in a much harder way. He wrecked his car a couple of months ago. He was fine, until he decided to leave his car and flee the scene before cops arrived to find out he was drunk. He thought he could make it down a 40 feet flight of stairs that ran down from the bridge he was on. It turned out he had had a couple too many to accomplish that simple task: he fell all the way down. This was at night, but luckily some guy walking his dog found him and brought him home. I took him to emergency. He suffered a broken shoulder and his foot was really fecked. His heelbone had pushed all other bones above it into his lower leg. His ankle was as thick as a grapefruit.

Now, 4 months later, he still can't walk properly, and he probably never will again.

A good reason not to drink and drive: you might get caught.

A bad excuse not to drink and drive: you might kill yourself or someone else.

I did some test for school when I got 16 years old, and alcohol didn't influence my "reactive power". (1.2 litres of beer after not eating or drinking for 6 hours) Had the same speed as I had before.

Did make me clumsy though.

Clumsy=lack of balance and motor control= You+car+Pavement(Speed X objects in front of you)^your apparent awesomeness=Tree
You still equal tree.
Tree's are quite hard... Especially if you run into them.

I doubt any school would pour 1.2 litres of beer into a 16 year old for a "test"

Well him happy it s not my fault.. I can just imagen if there were anyone responsible for this.. Or maybe you can blame alcohol..
