Eh. I think the role of aug is good enough, there is no need to reduce selfbink to enforce that role. The gun is getting too easy to handle.

-5 ammo, i dont care anymore. I'll stick to aug no matter wtf happen to it.

I still believe that selfbink is the best nerf for the aug. It might not work for any other weapon, but it works for the aug. Thats why you can feel significant difference when you play at sna.gather. That proves that selfbink is doing something. Even for the first 4 bullets

The way I see it, its not that aug is too versatile, but the others autos are too unspecialized.

I started in 1.3.1, and I picked aug because of its versatility. before the mp5 and ak nerf, barely anyone uses aug, and now everyone uses it. I mean if the nerf was the one that was causing the problem, just boost the other two weapons. (nerf is wrong, and two wrong doesn't make one right)

PS.: didnt you have like 3-4 warnings? I swear that you had some.

explain

this:
Steyr - A more specialized killing instrument. Fastest assault rifle to kill, but not as decent against multiple enemies.

And the fact that the current Aug can kill 2 opponents easily with 30 ammo.

I dont see a boost in dmg for the steyr in 1.5, all I see is a nerf.

With the current nerf, Steyr will still remain overused.(if the ak and mp5 and minimi stay the same)

We shall see...

I don't think it going to be overused so much, many people will switch to Ak or Mp5 in my opinion.

Well it depends...

Some users change weapons as they can't take the change in -5 ammo because they can't play the same way with the Aug as they did before. Now they can't kill 2 opponents so easily, so they have to change their play styles a bit. They will find that they will need to reload much more and start running away more often. Knives and Socoms MAY be on the rise too as a result.

So they will switch to MP5... because it is also the rusher's gun. Or the AK... since it is the Aug's rival over versatility. Not so many would use the Minimi though, but if they do, they'd be after the long ammo clip and high bullet speed.

Those who remain either probably can't find any weapon to use, or have mastered the Aug well enough to adapt to the -5 ammo.

But ya, -5 ammo is considered a big nerf.

eh. I dont think so. I mean the gun itself hasn't changed much. So if you owned with it in 1.4.2 you can still kickass in 1.5.1, the only prob is that you can't do two kill with one clip anymore. But we have nades, knives too compensate the -5 in bullets. IMO -5 bullets is a weak nerf that will have little effect on competitive players.

You're probably right. That tweak alone won't balance it to the desired level. But the changes in this WM are "1.5 compatible," as in they assume that the upcoming changes to the gameplay are implemented (50-80% as much bullet push, random law delay fix, minigun boost). The bullet push reduction will nerf steyr the most out of all the weapons.

Well, bullet push wasn't really what maked people picked steyr in the first place. On one side, you can't boost teammates anymore with that steyr. But on the other side, chasing EFC is much easier since you wouldn't boost them anymore..

We'll see what happens.

The point is that with the current bullet push if you're above or on one level with the enemy, you can keep him at bay: he will be binked, he will do less damage and he won't be able to get into cover ( unless he starts moving backwards, but that would mean losing even more ground to the enemy ). Add that up with the speed the steyr kills, and wham, you have the reason why it's getting most of the shaft on the next balance.

Although I don't completely agree to your arguement,

- Bink only affects barrett.
- bink of getting shot at will not affect the dmg, or the bullet speed.
- He still can get into cover, even a steyr will get into cover if he's getting shot at, and you will lose ground, no matter what weapon you use or up against.(steyr is not so special)

I do believe that steyr should be a little less stronger in comparison.

Bink affects ruger too. And thats a huge benefit for aug users since ruger owns.

But the bink is so low that it barely affects the Ruger in most cases. In 1.5, it's gonna be removed altogether, though the Ruger's receiving a damage nerf.

Isnt -5 ammo too much.....the reload time is just too long then.
