TV?? I don't think so.... That I think would bring in wayyy too many unwanted people.  Apart from the fact that we could all be on tv I don't exactly like the idea.  I think it's MM's call

There is no such thing as "unwanted people."  Everyone eventually adapts and the game will be better off, regardless of whether the people come from TV, some website(s), or somewhere else.

Exactly. There are no unwanted people in Soldat - except for hackers and stupid people. This is the point of the trailer. Michal didn't make Soldat for a select few, despite that even after 5 years, there are still those in this community with that mentality. Like GOD! Get over it or get out. When someone designs a game, they want as many people (who might be interested) to find out about it and play it. New blood is good for Soldat. The dedicated stay and contribute to the community in movies, mods, maps, just being a good/skilled player, etc. It keeps the game alive and fresh. Also, the more populated servers, the better.

I've said this before. If you hate the fact that more people are coming into the community and playing the game, then start a private server for you and your buddies with whatever your favorite version of Soldat. You can make your own site/forum too. Problem solved. You won't ever again have to deal with newbies and new Soldat experiences.

The resolution can be whatever you can work in comfortably.  I'm pretty sure I can transcode just about anything.  If not, I can always come and ask you to transcode it for me

1) Bigger, bloodier battles.
2) Let's hear the Soldat sounds.
3) Don't show lag kills. Especially when you catch the victim whining, "Lag".
4) Show off some more features. (Rambomatch is an especially cool one to use).

1) The little collage at the end, I thought was nice.. Except that "enemy comin' " thing
2) Good job using m79, the gun that makes the biggest explosions and creates the nastiest gore.

To submit final entries (which you shouldn't be doing for quite a while) e-mail me at ryan@u13.net and we'll set up a way for you to get me the full-quality video via ftp or some other means.

I'm really looking forward to seeing some of these videos. Especially Blade's entry (if he enters), he really surprised me with the ruthless movie.

Nice video. But the problem is that it focuses on just you rather than the features of soldat. If it was a trailer for a soldat clan video or your own video, I'd give it a solid B+. Yet, it woulda been nice if it mentioned SOLDAT at least once in a SOLDAT trailer. Just looking out for you, nothing personal.

This video shows how soldat is, it's an old video, it was one of the first I downloaded, and I still think it's good. It shows all the weapons, it has the /piss, and the multikills.  I think it's good to only have music sometimes, and just have soldat sounds sometimes, like in this movie.. hmm, If this was made in a newer verson, I would vote for it.

Soldat was on TV once, but it wasn't a trailer or something, it was in some crappy program(not even national) where people were bragging with their eGaming skills.(Krakeeh & yogi got on it as far as I remember).
Also, why the hell you focus only on CTF in your videos?
Mabye record some MMod, that looks cool if there are decent players on both of the teams.
Also, you should record some climb speedruns, many moves look awesome.

and then we spice it up with flamemode, and other cool stuff.
We should not show lagg.
Make it easy for people who not know soldat to understand.
blackdevil0742 was fooling around, I noticed the cool map, we should show only cool maps. :p

I don't want to be an asshole, but the contest has been out a week and people are starting to post vidoes already? They don't look NEAR the quality that can be reached with more time.

I hope the contest runner doesn't take this as the average time it would take to make a movie, I am going to take at least a month, because I am a perfectionist sunuvatwat.
