True, but there are still some climb maps that you can complete without using any of the real backflipping skills and delay-flips.

Even so, maps like what I just described won't force you to improve your skills in agility. Probably.

I quit playing pub climb servers when I got able to beat most of the maps that were regularly played. I miss eC climbing because (A) it was often only a couple people climbing at a time and (B) there were HARD maps on there.

yes i agree there use to be whole community inside that server. for me it was like a dream to get a map of myself on there its mainly the reason i start mapping climbers, because there are not allot good, hard and bugless climbing maps out there.
i hate maps like c_cave etc there not fun just frustrating.

I don't like a climbing. It is bored and stupid. Think about Climb League if you like it.

Climbing fails.

Not really. I found some of the climbing skills useful in a real battle when agility and speed are needed to get out of a tricky situation.
This.

Alot of people say climbing sucks, but once you do it for a long time you become very knowledgeable of what you can and cant do, whats the best liftoff speeds and areas, the right time to hit certain buttons, makes running around the map a graceful show. Even if you do die alot. :p

Yeah, cannonball and shotgun boost is fast.

Backflip is also very useful for dodging stuff and makes it easier to move around in tw maps and others.

I would say backflips are quite risky to use in normal mode since you have to look backwards to do them (obviously) meaning your blind to any incoming enemies. The only use I've gotten from climbing is cannonballing which helps when your running back for a cap and delayed backflips for flipping around polygons however most of the time its better to do a normal straight jump. :Q

Im just saying climbing fails when your actually climbing.

No you fail.

Anyway my climbing skills need a bit a work but I'm getting better.
Yes, I fail at failing.

You like spamming don't you scarab? That's nice. I like giving out warnings to such individuals. Third warning for you, and a 2 day ban to go with it.

Not really.
You can look forward, do a flip, and reverse the flip direction by a quick swivel of the mouse (takes around 0.5 seconds if you got the right sensitivity :P)

Ya thats how I would do my backflips if I'm running forward. Soldat is Very fast paced. It may only be half a second blind spot but I've had many situations where I've done some backflip only to turn around and have a m79er blow my face off :E.

Yeah, I guess.
But it's an M79.. if you were to jump the same thing would have happened xD
Maybe if your cursor was a bit further out, you could see the M79 coming and do the opposite... actually do a backflip and hope he misses.
But you're right.. IMO climb skills are mainly used in flagruns
