Ironman.
« on: April 27, 2008, 04:17:06 am »
What do you guys think?
I personally am I massive fan of this particular marvel series, I never grew up with an iron man comic but I did used to always wonder who he was and what he did, At first I believed he was some kind of Silver surfer person, like from the same background when I was a kid.

What do you think about the upcoming film, will you see it and how do you think it will play out?

I'm really quite excited about it.

Hmm... Iron Man... from the pictures I see it looks like it's gonna be a pretty cool movie.

Yep, I watched Iron Man only a few times when I was a kid, it's not a bad show, but I just didn't understand the storyline since I was just a young kid.

(EDIT: Aww, War Machine's not in the movie...)

I've known of the Ironman comic but I wouldn't call me self a fan.

It does have to potential to be a great movie. However, judging from how they are advertising the hell out if it. I assume its gonna suck. If they stick to the old tried and true storylines (like they did with transformers) then it might be worth buying on DVD (or blueray).

I never read the Iron Man comics with any sort of consistency, but I always loved the storyline from the original series.  No gimmicky super powers or magic beings, as far as I remember it - just a guy building a massive iron suit and going out to kick ass.  Although it didn't look as cool or familiar at first...

I've been a fan of this ever since I saw that trailer. I sure hope Hollywood doesn't botch up the adaptation of the trailer into a movie.

Seriously, I guess it's pretty cool. How's his heart going to get damaged? That's what I want to know. IEDs in Iraq?

I came into this thread waiting for a encouraging story on the will and determination Pie possesed while running an Ironman marathon. I wanted to read of the months of training and the hours of running that shaped him into a phenomenal athlete, an that it was all worth it to achieve his goal.

I got a thread about some random movie instead D:

As far as I can tell, from the trailers and from what i've read/been told that he is a wepons expert type guy who is selling superweapons which makes him rich. he gets kidnapped by terrorists or something and he ends up building a suit to escape, he later modifies it from the prototype, so yeah, no radioactive spiders or nuclear bombs or anything. This , I think, is the best story line for a comic, I mean I believe, or at least I would if i was younger,  that it was possible for something like this to happen.
My friend just laughs every time I mention it to her, because I sound epic excited about it, which I am.

And phil, Iron man championships are kind of great, but this iron man is actually made out of iron :D

Lol, internets.

stark industries is essentially a weapons manufacturer with heaps of contracts to the military.. as with the comics, tony stark realises that he should start using his smarts to protect people instead of killing them

oh plus he's an alco... whats not to love

I wasnt a big fan of Ironman until the Civil War series came out. Unfortunately, the only movie theater on this island just recently closed down due to Saipans increasing fuel surcharge crap. The movie theater (Wallace Theaters) wont open until Narnia comes out.

I MUST SEE THIS MOVIE.
(Plus, i havent been to the theaters since Xmen 3 came out)

I want to see it very badly. It finally looks like a Marvel movie was properly funded, got good actors, etc. (I didn't really like some of the others) I don't know very much about him or comics in general, but I always liked Iron Man and this movie looks very very good.
