I would have to agree, even when you say you are not meaning to gloat, subtlety escapes you. It is almost obvious that you enjoy rubbing this fact in everyone's face. Not to be snotty about it, way to go for you, but it is expected for me, next year to start earning around $20-25 grand a year as a minimum wage, while my courses, fee's and living expenses are paid for by the government.

Officer training+Bach of arts general = Pretty awesome.

Assuming that is that I make the list, I'm fairly sure that my OP will be good enough for me to get the position. I think that's pretty damn good, being paid to study.

If I am gloating about anything, it is that I have a job more challenging and rewarding then anything you people have to look forward to. (With exceptions like Geo and Bricks)

So I am making more then your average Soldat Forum member. (At least in the US, and defiantly members in 3rd world countries). It is fact, accept it. Do not challenge it.
Congratulations on making more than the average high schooler!
You sure seem to be proud of it!

I guess that's pretty good ... congrats =]

But seriously, it isn't THAT impressive <.<

I'm 17 and I'm getting 38k annual from a cadetship. If i place a high bar for myself and do consistently well in uni then i hope I'd be landing at the very least 100k by time I'm 22-3.

[Edit]: I guess what your getting is quite good for what your doing though.

Soldat forums - the only place in the world where teenagers' avarage income is at least six figures and the work their doing is highly facinating and it requires special skills.

Feck yeah, dream on.

It's called getting a high level of education in order to get a high pay job. Are you seriously that retarded?

Plus the career path I've chosen is going to mean a shit load of long fkin hours and years on end of little sleep ... hardly fascinating, but hopefully I can retire early.

So yeh, I'm not dreaming about it, I'm working and living my way up to it.

is it really worth it overall to waste X years in university, study ridiculously hard, end up in a depressing office-type job for thirty/forty years, maybe get a raise or something then, and then FINALLY have some fun when you're like 60 and all wrinkly and old? isn't this the type of thing they do in japan, where everyone ends up getting depressed and committing suicide because their lives are soulless and meaningless?

also thx pie for rehashing what i said, just to make it easier for everyone else

How many teenagers you've seen with the master's degree? If you took your head out of your ass, you would know that a 23-year-old is not a teenager anymore. Without good education you are rarely making feckloads of cash - except on soldat forums.

We can be Sarcasm buddies

But it is true, studying at uni isn't required to live a good life with a good pay. Yes it will make you rich in the long run, but it takes time. You're better off getting a job that interests you as opposed to a job that may some day make you a made man. A lot of the trade apprentices can get jobs in the 40-60k range and if you're game, you could get into a mine job which would ensure over 100k for a first year apprentice. So uni won't ensure you being rich in the short, It may in the long run, but that depends on how long you want to wait.

I myself am intending to study English, history, Political science and geography (to name a few) Not because it will greatly promise a large income several years from now, but because those things interest me and i'd rather have fun doing a job that interests me than work a job that is boring but has a promise of me getting a significant amount of money down the track.

Money isn't that important when you think about it, well it isn't to me anyways, It's better to enjoy what you want to do while you can.
