True mangled, but the same passage could be viewed as either or both.

Since you know evolution didn't happen.*

And just because someone labels themselves agnostic means they are open minded? Having an open mind means looking at things from other peoples point of view. Not accepting everything as fact.**

Actually it isn't about the Bible at all. I just stated one reason I believe Nessy might be real. Apparently people like you rage at the letter "b."***

*Are you living in the 1700's?

** I didn't say someone who labels their self as agnostic now did I? I meant someone who is literally agnostic in the utter most sense.

*** I was merely pointing out how the Bible is not a reliable historical account and I think I made that very clearly. I did that because you mentioned it in the first place.

I think of any, Bigfoot is the most likely to be real. (/yeti)

Yeah ok its wikipedia but you get the idea. As for the bible debate, don't hijack this thread make your own. I think Nessie has had way too many hoaxes to really take any "proof" seriously, and the lack of any definate proof after all this time on any of these animals is extremely unlikely. (Bigfoot for example, tufts of hair, bodies, feces, etc. that could be tested for a new animal hasn't really been found) So basically, I extremely doubt it.

I mean... we're talking about the Bible as a historical document rather than as a religious text.

Aside from your obvious conflict with the creation account, what do you think is historically inaccurate about the Bible? Why shouldn't a religious text contain accurate historical information? What you seem to be saying is like finding the diary of Daniel Boone and saying, "Oh, well, it's just a diary and not a history book, so we can't really consider any of this fact."

So up until then you thought we were alone in the universe? Just the thought of that being the case is ridiculous.

No, I knew that we weren't alone. But when I watched the show in the Discovery Channel, I really believe that there really ARE aliens. It's just that it's hard to see each other.

No, I knew that we weren't alone.

You KNEW that? From an evolutionary perspective, it's next to impossible that humans evolved.  Why should there be evolution on the same scale elsewhere? After all, the universe IS finite.

I beg to differ. It's true that we have some blank holes in evolutionary theory, but in the large scale, it's still a pretty accurate descriptions of how humans came to be. And if we look at the time scales, compare earth's lifetime to the period that life has been present, it's fair to assume that with such suitable conditions ( and given the size of the galaxy, not even the whole universe, the chance of earth-like planets existing is also quite high ) life comes to be pretty darn fast. What's more worrying that if this is so, why haven't we made contact yet? Cooks and weirdos getting abducted don't count.

How the hell would anyone find tiny earth? if there were a billion advanced civilizations out there, it still wouldnt be likely that anyone notice us. Just a tiny planet some random place in the universe.

Actually, there should be plenty of advanced civilizations well within our communicational range, so the problem is a tad more complicated.

As for as aleins, I think it would be ignorant to think that our space rock is so much better then every single one that has ever been created, that we have life and no one else has. As for flying saucers and other crap, I doubt it for many reasons. Especially when sitings were around military things, people almost definately just say some secret aircraft the government is keeping under wraps, or the sitings were made by the government themselves to occupy people. I think if they found us they would tell us. Also, if not being able to go the speed of light (I know there are a lot of theories that it is possible, but its still fairly unlikely, especially large scale) then it would take so long for anything to get here, even if they were were traveling at .999999999% the speed of light, that, well, I just doubt it. So basically, no aliens on earth, maybe elsewhere.
