DM - The Throne
« on: July 21, 2006, 03:25:40 pm »
This is probably my favourite map i've ever made. Unfortunately i've never played it online, but that doesn't change my opinion.

This map was the closest i ever really got to imitating MM's polygon placement style.

Everything about this map i've liked, and just recently i dug it up again.

Enjoy.

Rok 2, anyone? Rename it to that, because the similarities are striking. If you could get Keron or somebody to waypoint it fully, that'd be excellent.

my critiques are purely for the betterment of the map and mapper:
I would suggest making the grass color on the polygons thinner.
no offense, but your colliders are very pathetic.  put multiple smaller ones in a bunker to make the entire object collide.
Putting more actual grass scenery can't hurt.
Texture problems in the narrow tunnel and at the top (right).
It seems you also put a bunch of colliders where there's no scenery there.
Personally, I dislike having so much vertical space as opposed to horizontal because aiming vertically up or down is very messed up...
Otherwise the map seems rather descent.
Can't think of anything original to put here...

Yay I loved this map too! :D
Wow this is quite an old one... Didn't know it was one of your favourites (I thought it was  ctf_lowlands or something like that).
Glad to see it again anyway (I still have it in my archives).
The layout is quite original and very interesting for a Deathmatch.
Love ya Ranbo_6! <3

It's way too vertical for my taste... but simultaneously a refreshing, unique layout at that. Good.

You have to be a fan ov vertical gameplay to appreciate this map. I did this map a LONNNG time ago.

And yeah GluLm, ctf_Lowlands is another map i've still got, i should post it.

umm only the textures and the colors are similar to rok, gameplay and layout is so much different

That's what he meant.
