Poor professionalism from "Michal Marcinkowski"

title: lost my reg 3-4 years ago

Quote from: a_pac
i haven't played soldat since early high school and now i am 3rd year college.  i have come across the game and wish to play again, but i do not have my reg code from many hard drive failures over the years.  i had a soldat forum account back in the day, but it appears the member list got wiped or the forum was changed as i don't have an account and the forum appears different than what i remember.  i think it had a black or blue background before?  i don't know.  the email to buy the account was either xxx@xxx , xxx@xxx , xxxx@xxx , name was either xxx xxx or xxxx xxxx , bought many many years ago.  can you help me at all?

I bought this game in it's infancy, when registration was this complicated new registry file.  no bots anywhere, or cheats yet for that matter, at least widespread.  no nice forum, it was quite shit actually.  sent the quoted message to ""Michal Marcinkowski" on

no reply yet, i waited to be nice, to see if he was busy, but that seems not the case.  i am sorry my old forum reg isnt on the new system.  my bad.  sorry i moved out of my parents house and the computer with .reg key hdd died last year.  3-4 yrs is good for hdds now a days.  anyways, forgot to back it up but as a paying customer this is unnacceptable.  I gave him so much information, 2 names for possible payee, and 3 emails used.  (i was under 18 when i bought it, no cc andused my dads names for online purchases)  i told my friend about this game early april.  they both bought it.  now they wonder why i am not playing with them except in their rooms.  now i have to tell them because you are so unprofessional you won't even give me a reply in pm.  That's what it said to do in faq and people i saw in forum.

I don't get it.  Your lack of a reg key doesn't keep you from playing with your friends in any way.  You can play in any server, and what's more, you never have to register to do so.

Anyhow, you sent that mail just over a week ago?  Give the guy a break.  This isn't a business in any sense of the word, you buy the game to support the developer.  Wait a while longer before taking more action.

In any case, this is a rather poor way to handle it.

11days ago, i think, is a poorer way to handle it.  just my honest opinion.

You still didn't address what I said.

How is his lack of a response or a lack of a reg. key keeping you from playing with your friends?  It's not, but yet you make a point of "Now I have to tell them (I can't play with them?) because of this lack of professionalism".  That doesn't seem very "honest" at all.

It makes no sense.

MM, to my understanding at least, has focused his attention on things other than Soldat.  So, please, think about your situation for a moment at least.  Coming out of the blue after three to four years and saying "I lost my reg key" is a bit outlandish.  Not saying he can't help you, but as I said earlier - it's not a business.

dont mind i gave him 3 emails that are real and two real names.  or that the fact i am not lieing, and you are a troll.  Where was your name in this post?  was intended for someone of power who could do something not a troll.  should of been more specific in first post i apologize.  monitoring post waiting for staff members, not to talk to you, geo.

I don't get what you want after looking through this whole thread. And Geologist actually more or less stated everything. Why are you accusing him of being a troll?

Are you saying that you lost your reg 3 - 4 years ago (the reg file is in a computer that died) and you want to re-new it? Also, do you know that now in Soldat, you don't have to register to play online and all that? Buying the registration is to both support MM and to give you extra benefits in playing the game.

MM might have been busy, and he has his life. Just wait.

Okay... I get it now.

In other words, you lost the registration key in an old computer that died. Now you'd like to request another registration key because you have already paid and that registration is supposed to be for a life time.

The only advice I can give is just to wait.

MM hardly checks his email, give him time(and when he does check he sometimes misses emails); if he doesn't respond after another two weeks or so, send another email.

It would also help to check if you still have the original email that gave you your registration details, or anything from the processing company proving payment.

At any rate, not being registered has no effect on gameplay. The only thing registering gives you is the ingame MP3 player, profiles, custom interfaces, and a few customization options for your character. And a little star to let others know you registered.

fyi, the Soldat in-game mp3 player isn't that great. I recommend you use something else, like foobar2000 running in the background. That's what I do. I've got it set up with global hot keys so I can control the music player in-game:
control + shift + UP = next track
control + shift + DOWN = prev. track
control + shift + p = play or pause

using free uni computer, too slow for external mp3+soldat.  tried winamp and pandora, both fail.  (really old cpu)

If your CPU really is that old how can you expect it to run Soldat at a resolution higher than 640*480? I highly doubt that wouldn't be laggy.

Just snag http://foobar2000.org/ . It's got really low system requirements and doesn't use that much memory.

Shouldn't this thread be in the "Registration Help and Shareware Questions" Forum?

MM's always been prompt in restoring my lost reg keys, and I've lost mine like, 300 times at least.

I swear, it's like I send him an email every six months, I move so much and lose them.

He's a cool guy, and if you've sent him an email with the proper info, just wait it out. He'll get back to you.

try doing that in a store: "Hai, I bought this CD, and it said I had rights to own this CD for life time. now I've lost it, can I have a new one?", your bad for losing your reg key.

you should have copied the e-mail, and kept it in your email storage, possibly written it out and put it on a safe place.
