Skin Changer
« on: May 17, 2008, 08:53:38 am »
I don't know how many times this have been posted but then again.. why not have a skin changer in game, maybe it's to much work for little thing that you can do in 1-2 min by closing down Soldat.
But still you get quite tired when you have to close down Soldat like 5-6 times just because the skin didn't became good :)

Don't know what you others think, maybe I'm just lazy

No.
It was suggested a lot of times, and I agree with the main argument - it separates experienced soldat players from newbs.

Want to explain your self?, do you mean that they who want to have a black or red skin suck because they thinks its nicer?, why dont just make a damn "black skin or red" in soldat then so you don't have to change with skin changer?, or do you mean that the "experienced soldat players" never have to change skin?

Its like people not changing their name from "Major" to what ever they want. He means more experienced players could figure out how to do it themselves while the people that can't will remain with default skin colors allowing you to see who is more experienced..
And as the lyrics go in the United State's national anthem: "America, f**k YEAH!".

I say bs to that argument.

Though I still don't think skin changer will be implemented, reguardless of how much people beg.

In my vision, it's a waste of time.  And don't you need to be registered to change skin with these tools anyway?  Hence, being registered (coloured jets and the star next to your name)  makes you as respectable as you would if you looked like an alien/

No I don't think you need to be registered, and well yea its waste of time..
But that about registered players, that they should be more respectable? :S, I got it and I don't see any different with the "respectable" thing you said, Even if it maybe is so you never notice..
But we aint speaking of "respect" in soldat now, its about Skin changer..

No, you don't need to be registered - just edit soldat.ini.

To drudge up an old argument, I actually like to go anon in pubs occasionally. Of course, I'm the only regged major in there, so it kinda kills the anonymity.
It doesn't tell who's noob and who's a pro; it just tells you they didn't care to change their name.

And if they didn't bother to take the time to change their name, what makes you think they bothered to learn how to play.. this is where the hole "how do I cap" in inf and other things comes from :|

Well, it's just annoying that some servers would just auto-kick you just because you have "Major" as your name and therefore you have to make very minor modifications to it just to enter. I once met this guy whose name was "Major". He said that he preferred to keep the name "Major" because he felt that it sounded really cool.

About skin colour... just download a skin changer. How many of Soldat's population have already heard of the skin changer? It's a lot of people.
