Corel draw graphics suite

I'm considering maybe buying it through my school or something.  Is it worth getting?  Is photoshop capable of out-performing corel?  Thanks.

GIMP. Thats right. Completely free. And its better. I think its easier to use and i can make awesome pics with it

You're kidding right?....

That looks terrible. The only thing that looks remotely good about it is the flames and you can do much better flames than those in Photoshop. just using some colour and the smudge tool.

No offense if you think it's good though... if you like it that's what matters...

About Photoshop vs CorelDRAW Graphics Suite. Personally I HATE Corel stuff. But Photoshop is just one application and the suite is ...a suite. I don't know which version you can get, but even if it's some old version, you will be able to do more with it than with the most recent and shiny version of Photshop. I would say buy Corel suite now and start saving your money for Adobe Creative Suite, because if you compare Adobe CS with Corel suite, Adobe CS wins in every aspect, maybe except price and font managing (Corel suite comes with a Bitstream Font Navigator - it's not very advanced, but at least there is some font manager included).
