Really? Why would you need to be any stronger than you would have to be to walk normally? The magnets would have to be stronger than gravity, sure, but that's only because gravity cancels out the majority of the force they generate.  In other words, it should feel about the same or be even easier (depeding on magnet strength, of course) to walk on a ceiling than on the floor.

If you had magnetic shoe's that were made for walking in roofs you would probably have some safety. So you don't match the forces exactly. And the strength of the magnets have to be enough to keep you up yes? That means if you stand on the  surfice whit one foot you would probeably fall if they don't have enough power to keep you up each. There for. Yes It would require some extra strength compared to every day walking. Maybe not very much but it should be comparable to wearing iron plated boot's.

Except the switch would have to be external, since they clearly can't be activated by a walking motion (your feet are pressed to the top of the boots already thanks to gravity).  And external switches are no fun.

Each magnet's ability to pull would need to match the force of gravity on your weight. so you would have to pull with the force of your entire body weight to lift the magnet off.

electromagnets wouldn't be a bad idea...

If there indeed was a magnet that was strong enough, I'd use it to repel the Earth's magnetic core, outfit a small cockpit with the magnet disc and hover around the world on virtually zero fossil fuel.

Oh, and the house I had previously lived in before this one had a green metal roof. Win.
