It doesn't matter what color the surface is, really. It all depends on whether the surface is reflective or not.

Its about the difference between the frames the mouse take in. If its reflective that effects it alot because the reflection often is pretty much the same.So having a spotted mouse board is probebly better than a blank mouse borad. Unless you got superfast mouse movements or very low framerate.
Add weight to the mouse.
if there was such a thing as a tablet with a screen on it i'd buy it in a heartbeat
