Has anyone you know passed away?

I'm just wondering has anyone close to you ever pass away, it actually hasn't happened to me yet? I was just wondering what did you go through when it happened? :(

Only my family.  Two of my uncles and my pop.  When uncle kenny died I had no idea until I was in the car on the way to his funeral :/

Me: Hey mum, where are we going?
Mum: To uncle kenny's funeral
Me: okay
Me: ..Wait.. what?

A couple of my grandparents have gone, but I barely knew one of them at all, and only... er, moderately knew the other one? The second one was definitely a downer because I have a lot of fond memories of him as a kid, but it wasn't like he was the closest guy in the world to me...

I think the most affected I have actually been by death yet was that of my dear old cat George, who was born in 1990 and died only a week ago yesterday. I'm still trying to cope with the loss. That old cat was my brother.

Death is not something I deal with well, and I dread the day I lose an actual close human family member. I fear the deaths of those around me more than my own.

My great-grandma (Father's line) and my great-grandad (Mother's line)
I was about 4 or 5 years old when my grand-grandma died and I was at home when my parents got the news.
They lied on the bed for about an hour crying silently and I thought "wtf" running from room to room to get paper and wipe their tears @_@
Then, 2-3 years ago my great-grandad suddenly stopped eating or drinking, he just surrendered. He was 91 years old.
He carried on without consuming anything. I was the last person to see him alive (or breathing like if shot in the lungs)
It didn't affect me much, as I am strong mentally, but my mom insisted on me sleeping at her mom's place.
I wasn't allowed to be at the funeral...
The earliest death I faced was the one of a classmate back in 2-nd grade. He along with his grandma and grandad were hit by a Mercedes as they were driving away from a gas-station. Teachers wouldn't let us close to the coffins since the humans in there were then a bit unhuman...

As far as I know, my grandfather (not sure from mom's or dad's line) passed away. I had no idea how he was like, for I had never met him as he is in a different country. I could only see him from photos and hear about how he was.

I never met my grandparents on my father's side of the family.  His father died when he was young, and his mother died shortly after my parents were married.

My grandparents on my mother's side both died within the past 5 years (grandfather in 2003, grandmother about 1.5-2 years ago)

Both grandfathers, aunt's hubby, friend of a friend killed himself, another friend of a friend tried, a few people from church. The grandma I like is probably going to die soon while the evil one seems like she never will.

Two grandparents (who I didn't really know), a friends mom (didn't know her either), and a friend and a girl I really liked (two weeks apart). Hair stands on my arms thinking about it, and I'm still depressed.

Lets see... for me the only real close death in the family was my Godfather, who died of Parkinson's.
I don't have any grandfathers, one died near by birth date, another quite a few days later. His wife later passed on most likely from a broken heart, leaving me only with my Grandma who lives with meh. That's pretty much it for me.

both grandfathers... I cried a lot about one of them, and I never cared about the other guy. Anyway, when it happens, try not to push the feelings away... cry all you can, talk about it with others who knew the deceased, and let the thoughts run. That's what I did anyway.

Certainly. The more you bottle these things up, the more they just die inside and kill other things off with them.

However don't feel bad if they die over time.  If you see them waste away and you know they are going to die it hits you alot softer.

My father's best friend's adult son died suddenly, then the next day, my father's best friend died from heart problems from stress.

And Grandma.
