Field Diary of Dr Frederick West

Since the release of the Lazarus "virus" many of our theories and information has been proven wrong. Whereas before we considered these beings merely primitive and mindless killing machines... but we have been wrong.

2032: After years of effective containment of the mutants we have stumbled across something more disturbing. Intel is still minimal as of now. All I can say for certain is that it isn't good.

I would like it to be a massive mod. Fun and flawless.

The idea for bio weps in my mind is based around a heavily mutated, living and evolved extension of the body. Maybe for zombies?

And the counter-offense will be some new anti-virus weapons. Im thnking some slick and sleek looking weapons.

Yes, weapons from other modders will be appreciated. If we can get one look and style going we can have more weapons.

My idea of weapons: A bio-mechanical or fully bio weapon similar to that found in Prey.

Ideas, suggestions, concept art, concept weapons, pics and sound files would all be appreciated.

If you havent played the original Lazarus Project Mod... it is still avalible for download.

If you want i can try to make some concept weapons and i post them

About sounds, try on FPS banana and modify them or get them from games, i think that STALKERS could be a good base of sounds

I cant provide any new sounds, only modifying from other mods and some limited number of games remixed with MS Sound Recorder or Audacity (example: NN v1.1). Good zombie sounds are in They Hunger, both flash - Tle Last Stand 2 and Project Validus Survival, but  I still can improve excisting ones to more zombified.

I dont know too much about Prey weapons but I try post few original concepts.

Zombies mind need to be different than human, not mindless idiots but... sick psycho logic with big support of raised instinct. Where they are undead psycho predator and you are rational mortal. Just like "Predator and the Prey" battle.

Not mindless killing machines but not humans, something between, zombies personality must have something from serial killers who get into THIS too deep, to hunting and base on instincts like nature of virus, cycle of infection.

Well, some sounds that could perfect suit to monsters are in PSX Doom or 64, dont ask why :P I thinking about source like Doom 64 TC as alternative...

Well, this will be different mod made entirely from scratch as independent modification related to Lazarus but with more Doom 3/Prey/They Hunger theme.

Because 2.0 version number in compare to original 1.1 = this is sequel, next generation, not just simple basic update, so everything will be enhanced - that's general idea of contribution pack merged with sequel to original Lazarus Project as one mod, since addon was intended to be playable with or without base set.

That's not mean old theme and weapons will be lost - in future prequel to Lazarus Project will be released, something called like "Back to Basics", just to prevent downgrade when updating mod with old files from v1.1. Back to Basics will have elements from both Lazarus Projects in a new way.

As for  main weapon-color themes, Humans are Red-Yellow-Gray, Zombies are Blue-Green-Beige (last one for example: closer skin or some mutated guts color on organic weapons). Later some samples for it will be posted.

K, in Lazarus 1 the zombies were midless killing machines. Now we're talking almost a totally different species of intelligent possilby psychic creatures.

Not really different, just "broken" personality like psychopath's sick logic or mentally retarded person, however they have more instinct than intelligence and insane voracious ego than deep human values... instincts like kill, survive, food, reproduction (spreading) like classic zombies, they have pseudointelligent mad personality but driven by emotions and primitive needs.

How? in sounds and gfx composition which fit into this description, for example  weapons can look more psychotic as for zombie gostek who will use them. Also zombie may look more muscular humanoid to resemble serial killer, but still with zombie limbs dislocations, broken parts of body etc.

Henito Kisou must mean this:

Mix "Dawn of the Dead-Remake" zombies (running, growling and smelling shells of the people they formerly were) with the "Flood" from Halo (big and disgusting things with a lot of various mutations, tendrils sticking out, useless body-mass and muscle protrusions which is a by-product of the mutation) and add a heaping spoonfull of intelligence.

The result is the muscle-bound, blood-thirsty, "intelligent-enough-to-use-weapons" zombie/creature, which is occasionally missing a limb or two.

But in this case it has all of it's limbs and has somehow found a way to evolve various things into bio-mechanical or organic weapons.

Correct me if i'm wrong Henito... ::)

At eariler stage yes, but not only this, probably various zombie gosteks will be done because people have different tastes in that category (about how zombies may look - from classics to mutants). That one is partially based on Bane.
