For one most games become retarded after 5-10 pages.(Which is exactly why the last "pwn that pic" got locked) Two the staff doesn't want another "Last man to post" thread.

Then they can lock them when they get retarded, as opposed to locking an otherwise good thread just because they didn't set an end/the end came.
