The sniperline doesn't really do anything for me. I actually prefer to have it off. I can find how it can be useful for some people since it shows if there's anything obstructing your shot but that's it.

It depends on personal choice. Some find it helpful, some just ignore it, but some find to be a bit of an annoyance.

It screws me up. I guess your friend is more of a battle sniper, and you mostly a stationary sniper.

I love sniperline, but some servers have it disabled, so I prefer to learn how to use the normal crosshair.

I use sniperline for everyweapon, even Desert Eagles. It helps me judge each of my shots with curve etc and where I should place the crosshair in order to nail the enemy. It doesn't help in terms of Barret aiming, but it does allow for you to roughly see any obstruction that would interfere with the perfect shot.

I hate it, screws me up every time. I used to only use it for the small cross hair but I found out how to make it smaller without it.

It's useful to beginners maybe, but I find it useless. Honestly, I don't see why servers disable it since it doesn't help at all.

When I've started playing, I was using it for a few weeks; then I decided that running without it is better more pro.. j/k xD.

I couldn't stand the default crosshair (much too big) so I switched to sniperline, then I figured out how to mod my crosshair so I ditched that.

I can honestly say I have never used them, and have seen them used a grand total of once. I didn't even know they existed until months after I started. They looked pretty retarded, and I'm afraid they'd mess me up, so I never bothered trying.

Ah, I just love sniper line. I played without it a long time ago, and Chariot is right: Why disable it since it doesn't really help? Nowadays I use it because it's just a habit and crosshair is too big with it.

I find it annoying as it's only useful when using the barrett. So when I want to use a auto for a while I have to so use the really small and blurry crosshair. SO I just play with out the sniper line.

Wow, lots of people actually hate the sniper line lol.

I personally use a modified Sniper line (one straight line instead of having some parts missing) with my own cursor. I aim much better with it actually. Reasons why I use Sniper line:

1. It helps me judge my shots better (even Barrett)

2. The crosshair is smaller

3. The crosshair CAN show bink very easily. I hardly or don't see a change in bink if I don't use Sniper line.

4. Searching camping bushes is a bit easier for me. I can notice a slight change in size for crosshair and the name along with it. The size change catches my attention easily.

I can aim a bit without my sniper line (as I can aim quite okay in Duckhunt without). But don't ask me to use the default cursor or default sniper line... I dislike the default ones and would make my shots go haywire.

I got another solution to Sniper Line:

You turn on Sniper line. But, you go inside your interface-gfx, look for "sight.bmp". Open that file and you can start editting the sniper line to your preference, the same way for crosshair.
