Vertical sync is what's preventing the screen from chopping on LCD monitors. It uses more system resources to be able to do so. Haven't heard of it existing in soldat though.

You can set v-sync through your graphic's card drivers control panel. Some people belive it can cause 'mouse lag' or something which is the main reason why alot of people don't use it even if their computer is capable of playing whatever game at above the refresh rate of the moniter consistantly.

It's opposite. it makes your mouse smoother because you get unlimited fps.

nope. it will limit the fps to the refresh rate of your moniter however if the game drops even 1fps below the refresh rate of your moniter the fps will be instantly halved ;/

it works by forcing the graphics card to output frams at the same speed as the moniter basically, however the method it uses gives the above problem. Also like i said some people claim that as well as giving this sudden fps drop it also gives mouse lag due to the way it works.

I find it OK not to use mousepad, however, limited space annoys me.
