That's because both of you are using IE.  Even IE7 sucks at CSS compliance... every other browser displays the map correctly.

http://getfirefox.com faster, more features, uses less RAM... actually works...

I have it, I don't like it. Funny how other maps such as this works just fine in IE7.

The web developers probably spent an extra 25 minutes figuring out how to make it work in IE7.  Most web developers do web sites in two phases: first they make the site so that it follows standards and works in every normal browser.  Then they go through it with IE and spend huge amounts of time making IE-specific exceptions and fucking around to try and get it working in IE.

Save the web developers some work, use a real browser.

I haven't done much web development, no.

Googling "IE SUKX" or whatever is not really a valid thing because its a bandwagon full of smug little kids who can't shut their trap about their freaking internet browser.

And besides, http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&rls=com.microsoft%3Aen-us%3AIE-SearchBox&rlz=1I7ADBR&q=why+firefox+sucks

All I can say is that I have been using both browsers for a long time now, and IE7 comes out as the browser that suits me best. Many reasons for it, and the times I experience problems like the map thing here is few and far between.

As long as it takes me to the website I want to visit in the proper way, Im happy.

Firefox is undoubtedly superior to IE, if you don't want to use it you can suffer over there with your shitty browser.

Psycho: heres why to use FireFox.
1. Adblock. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/10
This thing is amazing, you basically right-click on ads and tell it to block them, and they never show up again.
2. As FLAB said, with IE, web developers have to go to crazy lengths of time to make their page work on it. Firefox complies with as many of the "standards" of web developing as possible, IE falls short.
http://www.webdevout.net/browser-support-summary Scroll down to Total in the big table thing.
3. Its faster, and uses less of your system resources. Why not?
4. Chuck Norris uses it.

Psycho I have a friend that's like you. Just try firefox for a week or so. It really does get the job done better. If nothing else the add-ons and themes make up for any flaws.

Fluffy, Im saying that even though it is a stupid thing to point out, it's not really much different if you do a search for the opposite. No need to try and be an ass.

I know about adblock, I have it installed on my firefox. Does not make me want to switch browsers.
Firefox for me is not faster. Atleast not when it comes to things such as flash. Flash games on the internet lags way more than in IE, and it lags when I scroll (an sometimes when I scrolled way down on a page it randomly jumps back up) and I don't like the thousand red X boxes that appear on sites before they have loaded etc etc.

There is something called personal preference guys.

Unfortunately I cannot use firefox, I dont know why but it interfered with my network..  and caused failures of some sort.  I decided not to put up with it and removed it.  I had no choice

There's still Opera, Safari... Hell, even the newest Netscape is better than IE.
