m79 bullet trail
« on: June 19, 2008, 12:54:17 pm »
left is 1.3.1 bullet.bmp in 1.4.2, right is 1.3.1 bullet.bmp in 1.3.1

Why does it look so facking gay in 1.4.2, any way to make it the same?

I use 1.3.1 bullets with the mod starter, there are no .png files in there.

Unless it uses the ones from the normal gfx folder?

Couldn't you just replace the current m79 bullets with the 1.3 ones?

AFAIK m79-bullet and nade trails both use tinted versions of bullet.bmp/png.

I still dont get why its so much different when its the same file. You think i should make it lighter or somthing to get rid of the "tint"?

Lighter will emphasize the tinted color [only affects nade trail]. The shape changed because, well, the PNG version is 3 pixels wide and cigar-shaped while the BMP version is only 1 pixel wide. Duh.

Are you saying you don't have bullet.png AND bullet.bmp in your mod or that you have the old bullet.bmp in your mod?

In my 1.3.1 mod folder, i only have bullets.bmp no .png images at all. I just copied and pasted them from 1.3.1

Solution: Make a .png version of the .bmp in your mods folder.

Oh, now I remember

remember how everyone hated because 1.3.1 looked like as if you were stuck in some crummy star trek episode with the very visible bullet trails?

they were changed back by code, so the trail isn't as dense

but try modding your m79 bullet to be wider/higher, and fill it with one colour only, that might work

if it doesn't, no fucking clue.
