What does a soldat beta tester do and how to become one?

What are the requirements of becoming a soldat better tester, what does he do, etc.

Not sure if I'm posting this in a right section... Please move if wrong.

Starting with the testing for 1.5.0, beta testing is open, so you get to participate anyway.  Beta testers from now on just help organize bug reports and threads related to testing, as well as participate in a few days of testing before releasing the public beta.

Beta testers are still a necessary part of Soldat's development process, but everyone gets to help participate in the betas now.
