PSP not connecting to D-Link router
« on: July 05, 2008, 09:17:11 pm »
Im trying to get my cousin's PSP to connect to my wireless router so we can use it to play FIFA08 online..  Problem is, when we enter the network PSK-WPA password into the psp, it attempts to connect but it fails every time.  We tried different settings and crap.  But the security wont let it in.  The router is a D-Link G604T.

Its kinda ridiculous having to walk around on the street until you find a house with unprotected wireless network to steal from them.  xD

Try resetting your router

-- Also go to the comp that is directly connected to your router and try these urls

http://192.168.1.1
http://192.168.0.1 <-- this is for D-Link
http://192.168.1.1
http://192.168.2.1
http://192.168.0.1

These are the URLs to configure your router's setting include the WPA code
If you didn't manually set your pass try user: admin and password: admin (or) password

-- Also, you say you entered a password. Did you know that the pass to your router - or just guessed?

Its the network key for my network..  its for wireless devices to enter in order for this network magic program pile of crap my mum has to let it connect to the internet via my router.  I dont think PSPs apply to this rule however, it probably wanted my WPA instead.  There are no passwords on the network at all except the network key that I am aware of.  even if I had it I still would need my WPA.

Your URL diddnt work..

WPA is an encrypted key you'll need to know in order to configure your PSP

Yeah, I forgot to mention I tried copying and pasting the whole url, so it still don't work, and I tried it on ethernet cable and wireless and none of the URLs are working :|

Is there any other way to get it?

Aight. According to the router password database, this is what you got:

D-LINK     DSL-G604T    username: admin     pass: admin

Click start, run and type cmd

Then press enter and type ipconfig

The address under Default Gateway is probably your router

Enter that address into your browser and use the username and password above, then look for the WPA settings.

Your default should be somewhere on your router, usually on the bottom side of it. Make sure to double check for zeros instead of O's and whatnot.
