Well, now that I am employed I'm going to buy an mp3 player very soon. Its either going to be an 8 gig Zune or an 8gig Ipod I'm leaning towards Zune, but I figure you guys might know more than me.

So advice?

Go with Zune, more stable, lasts longer, and the software runs better than iTunes.

iTunes can pretty much suck my dick. That's the only reason I would not get the ipod

Go with the iPod. You aren't limited to iTunes when it comes to managing it. There are loads of freeware iPod manager programs.

The Zune has problems and has some annoying quirks, and not to mention that it is one of Microsoft's failures, according to number of sales and other economic related things.

ipod or the sandisk sansa. If I buy another mp3 player ( I have an ipod 3g nano now), I will definitely get a sansa

Those problems no longer exist since the release of the second generation.

Yes! I forgot to mention that the older iPods are insanely customizable! You can install linux and play Doom, use it is a PDA, listen to OGG's, FLAC's, WMA's, MP3's, M4A's and more!

When you install Rockbox, all you do to sync songs is drag and drop onto the ipod's hard drive.

Yeah, I'm quite fond of the Creative Zen. One thing for me, is not having the circular scrolling. that really bothers me. Also, i hate iTunes, and feelt eh the Zen gives much more freedom of customization then the iPod.

The "Zune Software" is most likely Windows Media Player, which every Windows user already has. Why is everyone ignoring the stuff Flamingo and I mentioned about the iPod's level of customization, which lets you add / remove music on it simply by dragging and dropping?
