for me its that I used to make websites. To  do this you make a standard website, then go through it and fix all the strange things that IE does to it.
and ff uses less system resources.

Internet Explorer is prone to malicious webcode, spyware and viruses. Firefox has regular security updates and is much safer to use with regards to internet shopping and just general browsing. Firefox also quite simply doesn't get popups. I've been using Firefox for 3 years and in that time I have had 2 popups. Do I need to even mention tabbed browsing and addons?

  maxthon2 is swell.
You can use the Trident or Gecko engine, uses less resources than IE, it's constantly under development, and it's the second most used browser in China
I like the interface (and the skinnability), add-ons, plugins, MOUSE GESTURES!!!, and MOST OF ALL = ctrl+tilde(~) [it makes the window disappear, even from the taskbar, and comes back the same way.]

I really like it.

Was an Opera user for a very short time, but removed it since it ran sluggish on my system.  Was also a Firefox user, but I dislike the third version.  Now, I'm a typical IE7 person.

I have seamonkey installed. I have it set up to use my locally installed tor daemon as a connection so I can use it for things when I don't want people to be able to see my IP address. Firefox for everything else.

Every once in a while, if I want to check something quick from the command line, I'll use elinks.

IE7 is the most grotesque looking piece of software I have ever seen. Same with the IE8 beta.
