if by lucky you mean nearly equivalent to the rocket at close range. Stickies are his primary weapon anyway. Not to mention he makes engeneer pretty much useless.

You just need to have friendlies covering the engie, killing the demoman before he can blow his stickies

yeah but you need at least a 2 team members to take him on, especially in an enclosed area, it shouldn't take that much manpower just to overcome one class.
