Seeing as a variety of general interest topics have been posted on this board, I decided to see if anyone holds mine (aside from the rare song/movie). However, I decided to consolidate it into one single thread. If there are no takers, they can die out with the rest.

On topic now, does anyone find interest in cigars and/or fragrances. I thoroughly enjoy both of these, bordering on spending a little too much on both of these hobbies.

I'd rather not write too much if no one else is interested, so if there is any, just join in. Hopefully, I won't be talking alone.

I just plan to smoke a pipe when I get old. Everything else tobacco related is disgusting to me, the smell just makes me want to choke whoever is smoking around me.

Have you ever been in a humidor? That's one of the greatest smells ever.

Cigars and fragrances?

They go together like feces and flowers. ... although I suppose they go hand in hand if you want to mask the stench of smoke with the smell of a french barber shop.

Unless you collect cigars and display them on your mantel piece then I wouldn't call cigars a hobby... just be honest and admit it's an addiction.

When it comes to fragrances I'm pretty low maintenance... a spray of Lynx (AxÃ©) under each arm and I'm set for the day.

Who said I mixed the two?

Plus, a spritz of Lynx, and a spritz of another are both the same effort, aside from cost. Quality is different though.

Designer fragrances are overrated. As long as it smells good to you and you're satisfied with the price then it's okay.

I do have opinions on perfumes though. I like mild vanilla fragrances , whilst I detest overpowering sweet flower-scented fragrances which women with no taste seem to wear.

Who said I wear designer scents? I only have a couple. I also, agree with you. You wear it for yourself, but the ones I like aren't made by Lynx.

Also, I agree on your second point, cloying florals are not my favorite either. I prefer orientals mostly.

You're very sophisticated. Cigars and scents.... Do you wear a stick-on moustache and walk around with a polished walking stick with ornamental silver handle?

I smoke a pipe its nice and the smell is great, I tend to go with the brand Dunhill. About scents I don't really pay attention to them, Pipe smoke doesn't go stale though and that's pro.

I have pretty bad asthma, so pipes and generally smoking anything is out of the question for me.

And scents... wtf is that supposed to mean. The only scents I ever smell are when my sisters come over and stink up my bathroom.

Actually, you don't inhale cigar smoke. It's not like a cigarette.

So what do you do with them? Just blow on the end to force smoke out? And once that smoke is out, what's the point unless you can smell it? And if you can smell it, you must be inhaling it...

On a related note, pipes own (though I would never smoke one myself). Occasionally when I'm on my way to work, I'll see a guy biking while smoking a pipe, and all I can think is, "That guy is so cool."

You also don't inhale pipe smoke, its for the taste.
