Agree? Disagree? Comments?
I disagree, you're a sissy, Games are meant for a player to escape to a fantasy world.

Man up, it's a game.

"Oh Teh Noez?! Gaems R hurribal if U cna kiell ppl n stael there kars"

While it is accepted that you've never played one and therefor, didn't know the concept but jeeze, I've never been Sickened by a game before. I've been weirded out, but not sickened,
Lol, internets.

GTA got boring quick, its the same shit over again. It also sucks that you have to kill people to succeed also there is like zero strategy, its super linear but it pretends to be a sandbox game.

I hadn’t expected this, but then again, I should have guessed that was what the game’s name implied.

You dont want to become a couch potato, so instead you'll sit in an office chair at a computer. Right?

Disagree.

Comment: You're a little girl, no one else is that "weak minded". Get off the computer and wip out that book you’ve been thinking about reading for a while. Go outside. Do something constructive.

"Evil"... jrgp you are like one of those hysterical, gullible, single parent mothers who actually think Jack Thompson has credibility and isn't a mentally ill fraud of a lawyer.

Quote from: jrgp
I hate to say this, but I’ve gotten used to running around wreaking havoc in-game. It really does sicken me. The game is not only evil, but quite addicting. It amazes me how glued I am to the Xbox controller instead of the keyboard and mouse on my computer. It’s so addicting that I just can’t put it down.

The "evil" gameplay sickens you and yet you are clearly thoroughly entertained by it. Can you tell me what is so evil about the gameplay? Considering that the people who you kill and steal cars from aren't real and yet you are behaving as if they could be. Do you feel it is morally wrong to be able to do "evil" things in a video game?

It's beyond me why anybody over the age of 12 has never played a Grand Theft Auto game. Most of those who had a Playstation 1 had GTA1 and GTA2... and almost all of the people who had a Playstation 2 had one, if not all of the GTA3 series.

A word of advice to anyone considering buying / borrowing the game: don’t. It shouldn’t be played / “enjoyed” by the faint of mind. If you are weak minded and prone to peer-pressure, after a while this game will alter your perception of the real world.

Are you speaking from experience? Because you seem faint of mind (you find the game "evil") and prone to peer-pressure ("I picked this game because I’ve always heard how fun the GTA’s are") and you seem to have an altered perception of the world ("The game is not only evil, but quite addicting").

You are a prime example of someone who likes to poke politically correct opinions at a game purely because it's notorious. Wreaking havoc is game is purely down to choice... GTA is no more "evil" than Hitman: Blood Money for example where you specifically have to assassinate people and can optionally mow down crowds of innocent bystanders with a machinegun if you want to.

Its super linear but it pretends to be a sandbox game.

The missions themselves are linear, but can be played out of order which makes the story itself somewhat non-linear. It never labeled itself as a sandbox game but it clearly is. You are not limited to what you can do within the confines of the game.

Neither are you in any game. That's what makes it interactive.

I admit it did shock me when I first jacked someone, but as I said, I got used to it. The rest of stuff in that article of mine was just fluff to get attention and so I could see your reactions. Sorry for being a creative attention sex machine and thanks for your constructive criticisms.

I bought it for PS3 and maybe after the first mission I stopped playing it.

COD4
MSG4
GRID
Those are much better than GTA4

Anyways, go out and do something, it's the summer. Just play games after work or on your leisure time instead of writing long reviews.

I mostly just find it boring after about a half hour. Sandbox can't hold my attention, and the missions really aren't that great.

Look at the cover art.

There is a drive-by going on, a guy is holding an AK, and Cesar is holding a pistol. But yet you were so surprised to see car jacking and merciless shooting in this game. I guess you didn't get the hint that this game wasn't going to be "I will be a good person and help the old lady by getting her cat out of the tree, taking a walk in the park, and then reading a book before going to bed."

Don't forget the guy who's trying to look gangsta while riding his bike.  That's on there too.

On topic: Either you're the most naive/imperceptive person in the known world, jrgp, or you knew exactly what the experience would be like and now you want to stand on a pedestal preaching the evils of the game.  Like everyone else said, there is NO WAY that you can read the title, see the cover art, and hear the reviews and think, "Gee, this seems like a nice, peaceful game."

So yeah.  Chill, stop acting like you're offended, and just play the game.  You may have wanted us to think, "Wow, jgrp really has some morals," but we ended up thinking, "Wow, jgrp has no common sense."

Only anime shows I've felt any interest in over the years are Pokemon (original TV series) and various hentai.
so clearly jgrp is a goddamn anime connoisseur. his opinion might as well be law here.

Actually it just looks like you realize you were an idiot for putting this up and are trying to desperately to save the little bit of pride you have left.

Uhm, I was under the impression that the article was trying to be sarcastic when I first read it.
