Quick switching between fullscreen & window
« on: July 17, 2008, 05:41:21 pm »
In several games I've played for now, they have a feature, usually bound to the key combo Alt + Enter that can toggle Windowed Mode and Fullscreen Mode on the run.

This would be really nice and useful if soldat had it.

I don't think it would be useful, when would you need to use it?

Yeah, that's typically found in games with a minimise button on a bar that's obscured in fullscreen. In soldat, there'd really be no reason for anyone to switch between them.

F12 - I used to play fullscreen, and when I did, I found it a pain to try to chat on MSN / AIM / do whatever while dead (survival). Made me switch over to windowed (Now that I'm used to it, I'm probably never going to switch back :P)

This could be useful.
Alt-tab causes the game to spaz out, and causes you to lose control, not to mention the delay of alt-tabbing. You may be expecting an IM from someone, but not know when they'd be sending it. You could easily switch to windowed, and switch beck when you are done with what you are doing, something that would require you to close and restart TWICE.

I'd guess changing it to windowed mode would make the game spaz out anyway, or maybe need to reset the graphics engine because of rez change, I'm not sure.

f12 sometimes I find my Soldat is acting up for (reason) (probably my laptop overheating) and I close all the apps but have to exit Soldat (annoying when mid-gather) to go to windowed.
