An amusing observation
« on: July 24, 2006, 03:19:17 pm »
Alright so, last night I downloaded numgun's new Eradication Wars mod to check it out. I joined one of the u13 servers and picked a weapon I hardly ever use (deagles). Usually I couldn't get a kill to save my life with them, but because the projectile is so visible in the mod, I realised I could be extremely accurate with them. Match ended 20-1. I had like 3 or 4 multikills during this little experiment. Similar results followed when experimenting with other weapons I suck with :P

On a side note, the mod is awesome for those of you who haven't checked it out.

I think it's kinda cheating to increse bullet size to make it easier.

I personally consider mods a way of cheating if used as such.  You can make weapons be extremely long so that you can never hide and make grenades extremely visible so it's easier for you to avoid it.  I even remember that one mode where the M79 shell had a long 'laser' line attached to it so when fired there would be this super long line spinning around.  It was really irritating but I'm sure if you play long enough you learn to cope and are able to dodge M79 much easier.
Of course now I'm using the default settings
Can't think of anything original to put here...

I really always did consider modding a HUGE cheat, I prefer living with the default, but some ppl mod the weps so they can always know where I am with my barret and where th bullets comign from, so I'm always inaccurate on them. It's really not fair.

I think he is talking about the sniper line.
And I dunno how this would be counted as cheating, this is nothing like the long barrett :s
and also Iq unlimited, just because you miss sometimes, doesn't mean everyone is using some mod :>

There was also that mod the Jebus guy made (or presented) which made Gostek's glow pink, and thus render camping useless.

I never Said EVERY1 uses the mod, I just said that SOME ppl use the mod, and It's annoying cause I'm in an awesome hiding spot and aiming STRAIT AT THE OTHER PERSON and he just magically starts chunking nades at me and m79/machine guns me. I hate it, it's a cheap way to win  :(

And also, I dont miss

It seems that all of you missed the point. He, like many others, had trouble learning the deagles' arc. ERA makes the bullets more visible, allowing him to understand the arc better. Not cheating at all, merely helping eyesight.

That's like calling windows high contrast mode a hack.

I use huge white bullets. Why? Because I don't use the crosshair for aiming. People that know me can confirm I suck anyway, even with these 'cheats' :P

I make sure that I dont use strbe lights for bullets. Infact, to brush up on my skills, i even erased my bullets and trails so that I dont see where they go, only where they land. Also looks cooler, especially like the Saving Private Ryan D-Day scene when you use the stat gun.

Edit:
The drop in the Deagles' bullets is the way to use them. You want to use the angle they lose when they fall to your advantage.
