I had one once where I jumped from a cliff or something onto an oyster bed.  (oyster beds are one of my phobias)  Then I wake up as soon as I landed, and it feels weird afterwards :P

anyone had lucid dream or o.o.b.e?
i had twice....absolutely fantastic experience =D

Very rarely this happens. I try to savour every little bit and try to fall back asleep and go back.

According to scientists (bah, who trusts them? ;)), lucid dreams, usually those of the flying sort, occur when a major challenge in real life has been conquered. There's a reason you have the dreams you do :)

Anybody sleepwalk? I've beaned myself many times in my sleepwalks, though my brother did worse... He sleptwalked into the kitchen and pissed in the dishwasher  :o   He also pissed right beside me, on my dresser. WTF was he dreaming about? Golden rainbows?

Anybody sleepwalk?

Only once.  I stumbled from my bed to the living room couch, and pulled on some sweat pants that were there because I thought they were a blanket.  It was kinda weird waking up...

Only anime shows I've felt any interest in over the years are Pokemon (original TV series) and various hentai.
so clearly jgrp is a goddamn anime connoisseur. his opinion might as well be law here.

Okay, i love dreams. Seriously there so mysterious and what not. They made a new machine that detects when your entering REM-sleep and when it detects that, it sends a little red light on the top of your eyelid, that wont wake you up but tell you that your dreaming. So when you know your dreaming you will be able to change the dream from a bad one to a good one instantly.

Well anyways the best dreams that i had are the ones where im falling from a really high place, and it feels so reallllll that right before i hit the floor in my dream my body jolts upward in bed. I love that feeling you get when your going on rollercoasters in your stomach. XD

I am so positive I have a dream every night and just never remember it. Some mornings I will know I dreamt about something, but not remember what it is.
You have several dreams each night. They tend to get longer the longer you sleep.

If you want to remember more dreams, just tell yourself that. "I will remember my dreams". Say it out loud or just think it again and again before sleeping and chances are, you'll remember at least something the next morning.

I had a roommate in college who used to say the same.  Said he could influence his dreams through what he repeated before he went to sleep.

For what it's worth, I've had tons of crazy dreams.  Many lengthy ones at that.  If this topic is still alive by the time I can remember one to post in length, I'll put it up here.  Emphasis on length.  The good ones are always very long, but fleeting in terms of memory in the days that follow.

The physics of time in dreams is strangely different from the real world's time...

Anyone ever seemed to have a very short dream, though you woke up 4 hours later?

Indeed.  Not sure where I heard this, but I've heard you had hundreds of dreams in any given night, if not more.  You don't remember the vast majority, however.  Their duration is nearly completely removed from our conscious concept of time.

I've also heard that spirits live in your pillow and connect you to another world.

I've heard a lot of stuff...

I like to think that not a lot of dreams could happen in a single night, just that you happen to go through the dream in a time where it is continuously looping and looping upon itself, until its consciousness needs to get busy again.

Why do we dream? Perhaps to keep from getting bored. Dreams will take you wherever it wants to take you, and any injuries seemingly sustained in that dream is gone the next morning, and so is most of your memory of it.

Just how many of us here wake up just before they die in a dream?

Anybody have any good wet dreams lately?

ive had a dream i was a pool cleaner for sailor mars, she gave me head as a payment

EDIT: Night Traumas?

Where your conscious of the dream you are having and your experiencing awake. I have one where a garbage truck flys through the wall, dumps out a whole lotta My Little People and then they take me to a rusty tap with a trolley on it. I touch the trolley then im in a massive room ( back to my bed ) and then im sweating and picking ants of everything.

http://www.dreamresearch.net/FAQ/index.html

Most people over the age of 10 dream at least 4 to 6 times per night during a stage of sleep called REM (for Rapid Eye Movements, a distinguishing characteristic of this stage of sleep). During REM periods our brains become as active as they are during waking, although not all parts of the brain are reactivated (the parts of the brain that are reactivated in REM are discussed in Chapter 1 of Domhoff's The Scientific Study of Dreams (2003)). REM periods vary in length from 5 to 10 minutes for the first REM period of the night to as long as 30-34 minutes later in the night. It thus seems likely that dreams can be a half hour or more in length.

There is also evidence that we can dream in non-REM sleep in the hour or two before waking up, when the brain has become more activated than it was earlier in the night. That's why we said that we dream "at least" 4 to 6 times per night.

oh yea, and boy did it kick ass.
i believe i was going through an astral projection at the time, that's an outer body experience if anyone's wondering. anyhow, it happened after i had some DMT with a friend at a psytrance festival in turkey

oh, and there was this time when i woke up, went to the kitchen, got a fork and started eating coffee beans with it.. the horrible taste got me to wake up somehow. i also remember losing my balance.

anyone ever got that thing that you get kind of paralysed once you wake up, but can see what's going on around you (your eyes are opened) just can't react or move? those are fecking scary as hell.. i realised just going back to sleep will cause waking up normally again after a short while.

I hate it when I have a dream where I go to school.  When I wake up I always think, "Why the fuck did I go to school? It was a dream, there are no concequences.  If I had skipped things would have been more interesting!".  The problem is, I keep my good attitude when I dream.
