More effective /mute
« on: July 23, 2008, 06:43:42 pm »
To get straight to the point, the /mute command should be more effective.
Currently if you /mute ID or name, when the user changes teams or leave/re-enters they are unmuted again.
Maybe it should be fixed so it'll keep people with that name and ID muted, only if they're in the server that you muted it in. (Mute ID 3 in one server, leave and go to another server and ID 3 is NOT muted there. Once you go back to the original server ID 3 is still muted, same with names.)

It gets very annoying when people spam servers, get muted by players and just rejoin and continue, so this would prevent things like that.  [pigtail]

That's why there is /unmute. Usually the spammers and whatnot who leave will come back before anyone new joins and get the same user ID.

Sounds like a good idea. I'd prefer the entire mute system be revamped and it not go by ID, personally.

You can use ID or names, ID is better, if someone has a name like `[OW]|\|3|):P it is so much easier to mute using ID.

That is the whole point in this thread, all the person has to do is change teams or leave and reenter and they're unmuted, even if you mute by ID.

Not surprised you're at 2 warnings for spam now.

If they act like this, just keep muting them or votekick/call an admin.
... And don't tell them "I've muted you hahah", let 'em spam/whine/whatever till they get bored and eventually leave.

If it doesn't help, make a set of taunts to mute players (lolol).

/mute <id> actually muting the player's ip, auto cleared after you leave the server imo would be best
