I'm thinking of switching from xChat to irssi. Probably because of it supports extreme customization and runs from the command line. The latter is very important since I refuse to install an IRC client on the machine I'm on.

What do you guys use? Only mIRC?

I use mIRC because that's what people told me to use. It runs smoothly so i'm satisfied with it and have no intention to switch.

As for scripts and all that i couldnt care less.

Yeah, I use mIRC on windows, primarily due to scripts.
On linux I use KSIrc, it works well and lets me do what i need.

mIRC, for the scripting mostly, but also because I've grown quite used to it over the years and don't have much ambition to switch to anything else.

mIRC is my favourite one. I like to be in #sna.gather Mostly

mIRC, but I rarely use it. As in, once every few years. Thankfully I'm not one of those sad arses who go on IRC every day and idle on it all night...

I use telnet.

Yeah, I parse all the packets myself.

It's good cause I don't have to install anything.

If you've switched from Xchat to irssi then I'll do it too. I like Xchat [the pre-$$ version] but lately after fiddling with it a bit it broke up with the GTK platform or something and so its skin looks rather pukey.
