Soldat Security
« on: July 25, 2006, 03:57:25 am »
I think that this might have been mentioned before but it would be cool if admins had a button preferably a big red one that sends out some elite and highly trained bots that can move faster than any hacker, own any extremely leet player to hunt down and kill people instead of them simply dissapearing. What do you guys think?

Hacking anti-hack bots? CooOOool...

It'd be nice if the server announced the name of the bot before it was sent out though. Other wise people would vote to kick the bot.

Back in the day when Kefear was active, we got pissed on some silly newbies, and filled their server with 20 bots who had perfect accuracy, and were wielding a Flame - Rambo bow. Twas awesome :P

Something similiar would be cool, perhaps it could be incorporated into ARSSE... the app sends the bots in, after the hacker leaves, the bots are kicked. Hoot.

Been sugested before, but still a nice idea as long as its an anti-hack thing, not just a tool for newbie-admins to use when someone (not a hacker) owns them.  ::)

it's called antihacking protection, and it's updated with each server version (sadly?)

Here's an idea : maybe you could vote on the bot's unleashing. Instead of having the admin release the bot, and on whom, you could have people vote. A way of preventing the abuse of this tool would be by making a six minute period between times when it (the bot) can voted on. A player could start the vote only once every fifteen minutes making it harder for people to try kick wars with them (e.g. P1 vote kicks P2, who responds by attempting to kick P1).

Just my two cents, opinions are made to have critique.

The preferred outcome of war is peace. Ironic, huh ?

you'll need another way of makeing them besides the standard soldat bot maker. I already play all my offline games with these bots, everything set at 100 percent. But they dont seem much diffrent then 50 percent bots. Glitch?

I like the concept but it's not gonna happen at all. I twould be better if instead of like how a server kills people for tking it let loose a bot to assult the person for a whole round with a minigun and unlimited ammo+health but the bot could not hurt others.

However, it should seem like it's just a normal player...
So if you type "/botkill *playername*" the console should go
"*realisticname* joins Alpha team"

a fun idea, maybe should work, but the admins should think this where very fun and in any way they should hax the bots and make them kill others for nothing.
so i'm not sure if this gonna work...

Yes, let's introduced a CPU controlled player with the abilities of a hacker to kill the hacker. Not only would this take up an additional player slot and/or give one side an unfair advantage of the additional invincible player, but it'd also have everyone else in the bot's path unable to retaliate against this server created hacker. Hackers are annoying and it's natural to want to make their lives miserable, but not at the expense of everyone else playing the game. The kill and ban commands in place now do the job far better and faster.

Yeah but these hackers need to be taught a lesson, they need to know not to mess with a certain server, or they would think the security bots as a challenge to kill

Mr. Domino makes a great point.  Why switch from something simple that works to something that causes trouble for the other players?

If the hacker must stay and take up team space, then he should be prevented from respawning or something.  However, there's no reason to put the other team at a disadvantage.

Removing a hacker is not done because its amusing to watch or funny to do.  Kicking and banning are there to improve the quality of the game for other players.  This hunter bot would not do that.
