Hey, good luck with your project. Listen to a-4-year-old though. Tight controls and great gameplay will bring any game into popularity. Try not to put all you focus into new features or shiny things that will bring in short-term players. A game with good gameplay and balance will bring in good players and keep them. Of course, new features and shiny things are always nice!

Looks great. I actually wish that soldat would have this kind of physics engine. But focus on gameplay and balance like long-range and a4yo are saying. I have a question. Are you going to add some kind of gravity gun like in Half life 2. Because they tend to work quite good whit most kinds of physics engines it would be pretty interesting to see.

This would be possible with the engine.
I keep that in mind but have to test, if this makes sense, because the effect you are talking about can be achieved by simply cause an explosion near an object. This will be accelerated and can harm the enemy :)

But i will update this thread too.
I plan to create a site when there is more gameplay to see - i think it's too early now, isn't it?

I can't wait for you to release this.
Any news?

Not that much progress. I am currently developing the skeletal animation library to integrate smooth player animations.
Maybe i found a publisher who will invest some money to get professional artwork into the game. We'll see ;)
And yes, the game is made with XNA.

Sweet, that was the only thing I didn't love about the previews so far. Keep up the good work, this game has the most potential of anything I've seen in a while.

I am currently thinking about making an animation contest to get user generated animations into the game
What do you think about this idea?

if you don't have enough people interested you'll look like an idiot when you get no submissions.

Sometimes i don't need that to look like an idiot ;)
To be serious: Due to the fact that it will be released on the Xbox, it is difficult to get user generated content into the game - but i think it would be great fun for the players to see their work when playing it.

I don't see why you couldn't allow user-made animations to be made in the end product, at least in the PC version.

Hi,

as i said there will be keyframe animated players. As a _small_ extra we decided to render them completely in 3D ingame. I hope that all who said they want animated characters are happy with that ;)
And here is the proof, that it runs on the xbox.
As soon as i can show our real models in action i will post them here.

You know so far everyone who says they're gonna bring soldat or something to console so far hasn't gotten past the "make a fake screenshot and show everyone" stage.  You, have brought the in-game image to life on an XBOX360.  good work.

Can't wait to see more :D

hey I watched some of your Demo vids on YouTube.  The particle engine is really cool, looks easy to use and I can see so many functions :D

Would you by any chance release an editor of some sort with the game?  It would be cool to make mods for it and stuff, aswell as maps and crazy things :)
