The Mod Loader

How does the Mod Loader work?

If I just put a folder in the MOD directory, would soldat just use those files instead of its default ones?

I ask because I have a mortar launcher mod that requires the replacing of several files, and it is VERY inconvenient because I have to do it EACH TIME.

Err... the mod starter does it. Loads the mod, if is just one weapon just name the mod and extract the files o the folder (Soldat/mods)

Weapon GFX

The mod loader does the weapon INI and the weapon name.txt, but not the GFX.

I have redone the LAW GFX for the Mortar Launcher, BUT I still need to manually replace those files with the modded ones.

is there a way to use the mod loader so it loads all objects within a folder and any sub folders it may have?

It does load weapon gfx. It loads almost everything: gfx, weapons interface, sounds, gosteks, sparks, etc.
Take a look, you should understand everything from these screenshots (notice the address bar):

Quote from: Soldat Wiki
First, place all modded files in a directory in Soldat/Mods/. The example given is a folder entitled 'moddirectory':

Note that the files in the folder 'moddirectory' should be organized in the same way as the Soldat directory (sounds in \Sfx, gosteks in \Gostek-gfx, etc.)

Then open Start.exe in your Soldat folder and select moddirectory and click run soldat modded.
