AFK Flag Holder

This happened in 1.3.1, and up till now I just remembered it.

I was on Bravo team in !Elite Snipe & Slice, and our blue flag was missing. But then one of our teammates came back with Alpha team's red flag. He then stationed himself on the top ledge in ctf_run. And it took us until four minutes to return the blue flag. I just happened to be there when it happened:

The flag holder was afk. That or just being stupid, not realizing our flag was returned. Most of our team spent about two and a half minute screaming at him to cap. "CAP! CAP!" and "COME 'ON, CAP DAMMIT!" and in that span of time, several votekicks were issued against our flag holder, unsuprisingly all by Bravo teammates.

THEN the flag holder finally moved. Jetted down to the flag spot, and was just a jump away from the flag when a shot comes out of NOWHERE and kills the sucker. Then an alpha team guy came and returned the flag, but then got killed when he grabbed our flag. When that happened, we were all like; ":O"

no, though I sometimes miss that the flag is returned and am late to cap, resulting in them getting our flag out.

Happens a lot in pubs.  Why do people go AFK when playing a fast shooter? =?

I hate being the flag carrier when they got our flag too... no fun especially when I like using rush guns.. D=

Yeah, flagging sucks, which is why usually, I toss the flag to the nearest teammate as soon as he approaches me, anywhere on the map. Already because I don't want the cap to fuck with my KDR.

It's even better when you combine the flag-carrying responsibility with the adrenalin from rushing

Yea dude that's happened to me plenty of times. I hate when people do that, although I've done it a few times by accident myself... I leave the keyboard longer than I expected.

Typically this happens to me when I'm the FFC and know that I'm going to die soon, so I blindly (and quickly) throw the flag into the spawn point.

As I'm cut to shreds by the opposite team, half my team respawns all at once - and which one does the flag stick to?  Yep, the *one* guy who happens to be AFK.  Needless to say, it never ends well when that happens.
