As I am going about the different servers specifically made with one of the following, realistic mode, knife only, climb, etc, I have really become appreciative of their contribution to playing in a regular game. I say this because yesterday more than usual, I witnessed the little experience I gained from a climb map through my own means to take out an opponent.
On Dropdown 2, underneath the platform where the red flag sat, I rested. And since it wasn't realistic mode of course, the enemy awaiting my arrival adjacent to the flag, could see me. So I did what I did not expect to pull off skillfully (since I'm not proficient at climb maps) especially since he was facing the same way that he faced, knowing that one shot from his barrett could do me in.
From underneath the platform, I jumped forward without touching the ground beyond that bunker. And in the same manner of executing a back flip on delay, that is what I did while guiding myself onto the platform, kind of like drawing a curve from underneath the platform to where the flag stood. A split second would have meant me biting a bullet but I assume that it was due to his bad timing. Because as soon as I came over that edge that meant life or death, guiding myself in his immediate direction, I fired my m79 at him directly. The shot was placed well enough so that it was not too close to damage me yet not too far to not get an instant kill from the deployment of that ammunition.
The rest of that was sort of a blur. I know I captured the flag but I just know that detail in truth was awesome in my opinion.
Other times regarding servers set with specific tasks like saw and law benefit me as well, although I'm still trying to learn how to use them with proficiency. And the knife servers come in handy as well. The realistic servers also help with awareness. I often make use of sound as well as the death console (which I once had off purposely) to best assess what was happening beyond my sight before taking action.
So, have any of the specific servers helped you out with your overall gameplay?
