Animations on startup [REVIVED]
« on: August 06, 2008, 04:23:25 pm »
This topic was started a year and a half ago, but I revived it because I saw that everyone F12ed, but that wasn't enough for it to be added to the "special waiting list of stuff that might be implemented".

About 10 seconds after you respawn, if you do not move, your soldaten scratches his head or lights a cigarette.
These 2 are somewhat blocking the accuracy and movement.

I have to either go prone or fire a round to break out of this animation.

Is there any way to increase the animation's activation time from 10 seconds to 1 minute?

It troubles me too. Would be better to increase time, or possibly all together disable it (default on) F12

I usually just switch weapons, but yeah, a checkbox would be nice. F12.

if you managed to stand still for however long it takes for this to kick in, then you'll have time to punch the air once and flip back to safety.

I honestly don't see why people don't like this, the only people it hurts are campers.

My alt-1 is /kill, for use in emergency situations to keep the enemies from getting a kill.
how would you press alt-1 when flipping lol?
Thats not what this is about anyways.

That is actually used to give inconvenience to the campers. Now you can't hide so easily as your body moves and you'd make a little sound, as well as the fact that you become stuck in that animation for while unless you do something.

As annoying as it is, I think I'm alright with it. Who stands still in Soldat unless he's a camper or trying to hide? And campers would probably be proning/crouching.

Though I'd like to see that the /smoke function can take out the lit cigar online. Completely unimportant, but for some reason, I can't /smoke to let the guy stop smoking when I'm online, but works perfectly offline.

I wouldn't want to see it removed. Rather, I'd like to suggest that it should be easier to break out of. Say, just pressing an arrow key should stop the animation.

Quoted for the BEST post of the thread!

F12 for that!
