4yo

You'll have to raise the prices by the amount you pay the workers, offsetting any potential economic benefits.

Amirite?

Incidentally, Slashnoob, what did you do to tick off Chakra?

You two act like modern Adidas shoes need to be hand stitched by a cobbler. Paying a factory worker does not affect the bottom line very much since so much of it is automated. (at least it would be in the US)

I don't understand what with all the boycotting?  Is it simply because you're truly racist against the Chinese people?  What's the big deal, it's there first time holding the Olympics.  And boycotting isn't going to do any good.  Sure, you try to, but in the end nothing will change and everyone will just view you as an ignorant jackass.  Live with it, it's not going to be canceled.

And your logic make no sense a-four-year-old, I truly wonder where you receive your education.

And just make anyone who doesn't like Asians even more comfortable, Chinese people take up 1/3 of the entire Earth's population.  Not right now, but in the near future, they will be the world's superpower, then will come India, etc.  This country is starting to fall apart anyway.

Human rights?  You mean the one involving 1 child policy?  Yeah, the population of the Earth is more than it can support.  From the past years, they've prevented over 40 million births.  Sure, it'll cause hardship on the current generation of the citizens living there, but in the end it'll be worth it.  It is in a way inhuman and a so-called violation of human rights, but it's necessary.  One day the world will thank China for that policy.  Also, for prisoner execution?  They're criminals, in my opinion criminals deserve to sentenced to death for the offenses they committed.  What's the point of keeping a prisoner alive?  Just so they can serve a sentence in a prison and later be released and most likely commit it again?  As far as I know, in a harsh manner, China's policies serve the better side for human kind.

You're just a typical person who doesn't think before you criticize something.

More ahem
And many more.
Anyway I don't think boycotting the olympics is a good idea, it does nothing to china, they don't care, and is only hurting the athletes and the nations that do care.

It's not like only China has these problems.  Every country has it's issues, either minor or huge.  And whoever wrote that just wants to give China a negative image and make it seem like they're the root of evil in the world at the moment.

Anyone know if everything is going to be put up to the net for streaming? I can't check out anything on the tube and I am about to pass out so I don't feel like surfing the net.

The olympics sucks.  It's just a bunch of people competing for greatness from different nations that equally sucks as much as the USA.

Ice-skating? Ice skate your way though the Siberian military grounds.
Pole-vaulting? Pole-vault yourself over a wall into a minefield.

If I see five circles linked together on TV, you can be sure I'll be changing the channel, or whatever little channel I have on free broadcast.

So I was watching the Olympics, and I just realized something: Shawn Johnson looks a LOT like Carly Patterson.

Must be the gymnastics gene or something. =P

Only anime shows I've felt any interest in over the years are Pokemon (original TV series) and various hentai.
so clearly jgrp is a goddamn anime connoisseur. his opinion might as well be law here.

machine is more expensive than manual labor in the third world countries. Hell even electricity is more expensive than manual labor in those parts.

You people criticize China for human right issues when in fact, you are not truly free yourselves. I dare you to write a fake bomb threat to any stranger and get away with it. Hell no one is free. We are all bound to something.

Can we, like, keep politics out of the picture for the duration of the games?

China must find it hard to ignore the hypocrisy and the heavy stereotyping of most residents of the USA.
