Like the topic says, "How did you Discover Soldat?"

I was on a games/hardware forum back in March '05, and someone put a topic on this game, had pictures and the download links. I saw the pictures, and said to myself "This game is going to kick ass". Let's just say I was never dissapointed. It was like love at first sight

I've showed it to several friends who can appreciate gaming with placing face value, and they have played too.

My college Media Block System Admin/teacher showed me it. At first I thought- pff, just anougher shareware game that will get boring after 15 mins. I was bored one day and decided to downloaded it.

I read about it in a magazine called Gamer Informer. It was talking about the best games you can get free online

Someone was talking about it on VGDC last year, and I didn't think much of it. I decided to start playing it about 4 months ago. Now I'm hooked. ^_^

A friend of me complained about me not having CS, and I said my computer was too bad to play anything like that, and then he told me to download soldat, and I did... and I've been playing for a good while now. A year, I think.
Still, I enjoy it as much now as I did then. Probably more now.

My mate got a magazine which had a free ware cd in it which had soldat on it. He showed and I have been hooked ever since

Computer magazine (APC, I think) marked it as one of the best free games, and was put on a CD when it was 1.0.5b. When I got the internet on my own computer, lo' and behold, it had become Soldat 1.2, and thats when I played most, although 1.0.5b with bots was fairly fun too, and I probably took about one hour off every day to play it.

I was at my friends house back in early '05 and we were like bored.

I googled freeware multiplayer shooter (I was hoping for something like halo2 on xbox live).
I got a list of games, then saw soldat. I decided it had an interesting name and decided to try it.
It is kinda sad though, my first soldat experience was on my pentium 2 laptop with 4 megs of video ram and 128 ram.

I download DNA Trial by emule and in the files.rar I found .......... Soldat 1.X (an old version)

when I tested it it was vs bot but I loved the idea
and decide to search the latest version to play online
